A new feel to this addition, January 26, 2006
This review is from: Afterdark: Chicago (Audio CD)
After I bought Afterdark San Francisco, I decided to look into more AD releases. I found this CD and decided to listen to it. After hearing the song "El Regalo de Amor" by Dubtribe Sound System, I instantly bought it. This addition is much more mellow than the others in the series. It's perfect for a rainy and dark day. Disc 1 keeps a quiet sound with soft melodies flowing through. Disc 2 gets a little bit more upbeat, without being overly harsh. Overall, Chicago is a must for tranquil times.

Deep house, September 4, 2005
This review is from: Afterdark: Chicago (Audio CD)
This is one of my favorite entries in the AFTERDARK series. The first disc was mixed by Ananada Project Soundsystem. It's very chillout kind of house, very deep and soulful. The second disc was mixed by Jask and is much more uptempo and will get you moving. There's some jazz elements. House heads will want to give this one a few spins!

Excellent!, March 15, 2006
This review is from: Afterdark: Chicago (Audio CD)
This is an excellent compilation of deep, jazzy, soulful and upbeat house, the music I listen to and start dancing. High quality tracks in both cds, full of sexy basslines. If you close your eyes when listening to some of the tracks, you'll see colours and your spirit will fly (as for sure has happened many times like to me). A very nice adding to the After Dark series. Specially recommended the tracks by Julius Papp, Jay J, Migs, Common Nature, Glenn Underground, Jask and Solar House, all of them masters at work. This (along with other cds: other After Darks, Nude dimensions and naked music, Kevin Yost, Cloud 9, several 'Excursions', Harley and Muscle, etc, etc) is what I call 'happy music', because this is the effect on me. Go to a record store and listen to it (or here in Amazon) and see if this is the effect on you too. If you like the other cds I mentioned, it surely will.
