This cd was actually released back in 2001 with a different track listing and older, slightly different versions of of some of their songs from the "Quiet Letters" album. The songs that are featured on this current edition are songs that were on the older version of the album along with songs that were previously unavailable and unreleased. If you are familiar with the other albums, "Quiet Letters" and "They Made History", then you will love this cd. The songs on this cd fit in beautifully with the rest of their musical catalogue. If you are a stranger to Bliss, then this would be a good place to start your collection. The songs are all very melonchaly (without sounding depressing), ethereal sounding, but with an ambient, classical aproach to them. All the songs are very soothing, mellow, calming, and I know these are all words that have a tendancy to be overused, but these songs are the definition to those words. Overall this is a great cd, if you love it then check out "They Made History" and Quiet Letters", both are on the Music for Dreams label.
The track list is as follows:
1. "Lento"
2. "If Heaven Closes"
3. "Lost Soul" (New Mix)
4. "The Suns of Afterlife"
5. "Long Life"
6. "The Whispering Sea"
7. "Moon of Langa"
8. "Blissful Moment"
9. "Remember My Name"
10."Arapapa"

After purchasing their U.S. released album "Quiet Letters", i cannot help searching for their other albums. Afterlife is their another masterpiece i could find. This album is their debut album released only in Denmark, is out of print for a long time. It is a good introduction of Bliss for any chill-out lover and contains several peaceful and beautiful songs. The most impressive features of bliss music is their use of orchestra accompaniment, which makes its ambience much closer to the movie soundtrack. So there is no surprise for someone compare it with Ennio Morricone. Anyway, I really love it and will continue to enjoy it time and time again!

"Afterlife" is the Bliss collection before "Quiet Letters," which became an international sensation and introduced the masses to the lush beauty of their music. Two of the tracks on "Afterlife" appeared later on "Quiet Letters," and you can tell a slight difference in the mix; much of the production on "Afterlife" is more uneven than "Quiet Letters," though it does nothing to devalue the songs, which are of the same tone and pace. You can hear the evolution of their sound between the two collections, so it's a nice companion piece as well. Bliss adheres to the same aesthetic in their music without repeating themselves song to song, the mark of any accomplished artist. My only complaint? I bought "Afterlife" because it's been five years since "Quiet Letters," and I was thirsting for more of their music. Taking your time to get it right is admirable, but the lapse between collections may soon take on Axl Rose proportions if they're not careful. Bliss: New music please!

Two months ago, I didn't know "Bliss". I've been looking for an album to listen too while studying, something calm, but nothing to put me asleep. I didn't want too much lyrics, because it's distracting when you want to concentrate.

I found Buddha-Lounge and it was okay, but some songs were too noisy for what I was looking for. So I kept searching and I found East Wind, "Gotan Project" and Hotel Tara, it's nice, I still listen to it. But... I wanted more so I kept browsing on Amazon and listening to music samples and then... I found Bliss.

I've started with the album Quiet Letters and They Made History and I couldn't stop listening to them. It's EXACTLY the kind of music I want when I'm working on the computer, studying or simply relax. The music is soothing, calming without sounding "new age". The violin brings a classic touch in many songs and you can hear the accordion in a few songs wich I think is very original. We don't hear this instrument often and Bliss brings it beautifully.

After a few weeks, I bought Afterlife and No One Built This Moment and I can tell you, I never skip a song on the albums, because I love them all.

I hiked the infamous 11 mile trail to Kalalau Beach on the island of Kaua'i one fine summer. I cannot think of a better album to have packed in with me as I lie on the beach at night gazing up at the stars with no thought of the hectic life in the city just a few miles away. It was a moment of bliss that holds a special place in my heart; this album is part of a fond memory.
