Martin Bormann was one of Hitler's trusted right hand men during the Nazi's quest for world domination. This book shows that he was also a very clever and elusive fugitive from war crimes justice tribunals. Using his connections and vast looted wealth he bought his way into Peron's Argentina where he enoyed a multi-year new "lease on life." He comes across as a swashbuckling modern day pirate who managed to stay one step ahead of his pursuers unlike his former partner in crime --- Adolph Eichman.
Former intelligence operative Ladislas Farago does a great job of presenting the hard evidence that he uncovered. Through sources and paperwork found within the government of Argentina he makes the case that Martin Bormann lived there beginning in 1948 and throughout Latin America until he died sometime in the early 1970's. The author personally tracked him down and met him face to face at the hospital where he was being cared for.
This book reads like a high concept wildly imagined novel and yet it all really happened! I was impressed with the documentation presented by the author and it amazes me that the book isn't more well known and regarded. If WWII, the Nazis etc. interests you then do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this book.

I read it many years ago, and one of the times I changed home, I lost it.
Finaly found it again! Very good image about the IV Reich, and the influence of National Socialisn after the war finished.
A must for any library!!!!

This book reads like a mystery thriller as Farago travels hither and yon uncovering documentation and witnesses to corroborate his theory that Martin Bormann is alive and well and living on planet Earth.

Page after page unravels the mystery while painting the disturbing picture of the ongoing work of the Nazi network after WWII supported by one cabal after another.

How can we allow ourselves to believe that the Nazis "disappeared" when the Allies "won" the war? People don't just disappear, especially when they are the bitter, brilliant ideologues that the Nazis are. This book is only the beginning of the story. The fact that it isn't taken more seriously is a pathetic shame.

An ongoing Nazi presence would explain a lot about many of the painful mysteries in American history.
