Like most of Alison Tyler's books, this one also includes lots of great stories about couples having some hot sex. All of the stories in this book vary in length, (in 170 pages, there are 24 different stories) but all of the stories are set between a serious (or married) couple having sex. It's definitely a nice, hot collection of erotica - there's no doubt about that, but I just don't feel like there's anything too unique and extremely arousing compared some of the stories I've read in Alison Tyler's other compilations. It's still a great book full of lots of sexy stories, but I wouldn't call it one of her best. For a great book that can be read out loud to a partner though, this works amazingly.

My husband and I enjoyed some stories... But most had at least one element we didn't! We are not into violence, cheating, or things like that. . . I mean, we like to be a little naughty, but come on. I got this thinking it'd be couple-ish since it's for couples, but it's mostly not. And I think whoever compiled these was obsessed with spanking. . .

If anyone has a recommendation for something we might like better, it would be much appreciated! :)

When it comes to erotica I tend to have very restrictive tastes. I like clearly heterosexual encounters with couples or threesomes. I have no stomach for gratuitious violence, sadism, or victimization of any kind. Most of the stories in this collection are inline with my personal taste, but none of them is dramatically erotic or deeply entertaining. It is not a collection I would want to share with my wife because there is very little romance, very little color, and only shallow, predictable emotional content.

D.H. Lawrence stunned the literary world by revealing our deepest secrets. Emmanuelle Arsan captivated her readers by bringing to life their most cherished fantasies. Compared to these masters of the erotic arts, "Afternoon Delight" is little more than an adolescent's secret journal.
