After listening to this song myself, I can say that this is a GREAT track, and Westlife's additionaly vocals make it even better! It's a must have for all Mariah and Westlife fans. I hate to say it, but without Mariah this song would be nothing.. And the emotion she puts in this song exceeds the original version by Phil Collins.. You go girl !

To be really honest I never did like this track a lot when I heard the Phil Collins version. But then I heard that Mariah was going to do this track and I was a little excited. I heard Mariah's solo version of this track on her album and I really loved it. I thought she did a wonderful job of it and then I was told that she was going to pair up with Westlife and Im like...bah...another boyband....but really I was pleasantly surprised with the end result. This boyband can REALLY sing...Its amazing...their voices blend with Mariah's high soaring vocals to deliver a wonderful duet.

Infact Carey takes this song one step higher by adding to it her soul and emotion (like she does all songs). With the Phil Collins version you hear him, but you dont feel what he's trying to say. With Mariah's five octave spanning voice...you hear her alright...this diva wouldnt have it any other way.

This song stayed # 1 for two weeks on the UK charts and gave Mariah her second number one single there. I would recommend this single to anyone. It's a rare collector's item and is not available for sale in the United States.

Mariah Carey has had a long successful career as a singer, writer, and now an actor. She has had 15 #1 hits, and what better way to come back to the public and fans by singing a classic hit by the legend, Phil Collins. Against All Odds is a great song, and no one today, but Mariah, could sing this song as great as Phil Collins did. To make the song even better, the irish boyband Westlife is featured in it. With the eligant voice of Mariah and the hip boyband sound of Westlife, this song is a sure #1 hit. Against All Odds is already on top of the charts in England and the UK, and keeps on rising higher and higher. If you are a Mariah fan or Westlife fan, then this is a must-have cd. I am a very HUGE fan of Mariah Carey and this single is great!!! Though I like the version with her only best I like this also cause she shows us her vocal talent with a group who have incredible vocals. I give this cd a total of 5*'s but if I could give it more I would. Mariah is the best singer in the world.

as a fan of both artistes (Mariah Carey & Westlife), I really like this single. When this single is released in the United States, I'm sure it will help Westlife boost it's American popularity. This is a good collaboration. I also love the video.

This single is going to be the next BIG #1 for mariah adding to her collection of 15 #1 hits in the US and Uncountless SMASH hits in the UK and other parts of the world. Westlife has had 6 #1 hits in the UK alone this single, when released in the US it is going to be as BIG as Mariah's Duet With R&B Boy band Boyz II Men!!!!

I personally think Mariah does not need to have all these collabos in order to sell more records. Westlife was very big at the time in the UK so naturally the single became #1 overseas. I gave this cd five stars because they do sound good singing with Mariah and the club/dance mix is pretty cool. Mariah please keep it solo more often...
