With all the technology of today it would had been nice to see this priceless touching film without feeling you are watching a old elementary reel tape. Too bad. I am sorry I bought. The quality was awfull.

I have ordered HUNDREDS of dvds from Amazon and this one is the worst quality color that I have experienced.

the reproduction company TIMELESS MEDIA GROUP once again wants a fast buck. the picture quality is poor and the audio was not that good. the movie has the icon TMG inserted which is annoying. we pay good money for these dvds and expect better quality. from now on the gloves are off. dont waste money on dvds reproduced by TIMELESS MEDIA GROUP

This movie was a story of courage sacrifice and love.

It was pg for some things but the nudity was not much too it. and most of it was hidden behind a bush.

It was a good story I think. I think its something everybody should see. Most movies nowadays show nothing but blatant sex and violence. they showed more at the superbowl.

I recommend this move highly!

Recommended. Send the kids to get the microwave popcorn during the nude sister scene.

I saw this on TV when I was young. It affected me deeply. I mean REALLY got to me. To this day, I STILL see the scene when the Indians shoot the girl, just as her brother reaches the ending of the 'Crooked Sky' a huge obstacle-course type timed race. My heart stopped as I watched the girl falling down the cliff, blindfolded, hands bound.

Then the ending blew me away even more. And I never forgot it. EXCELLENT drama imparting strong messages of sacrifice, family-love and honor to name a few.

The movie plot was excellent. . . 5 stars, but the video quality made it not worth watching for us.

I saw this movie for the first time on TV back in the 70s, apparently when it was first produced. Although I only vaguely remembered the entire movie (and couldn't even recall the name of it!) a little googling of some key phrases helped me track it down. Some funny catch phrases that were spoken by the crusty old prospector, and especially the dream-like, haunting conclusion (which is almost too mind-blowing for words), stuck with me through the years, compelling me to find it and see it again.

This may not have been an A-list Hollywood production, but it dares to explore some unique and uncharted territory by making you reflect on just how far you might go to save something or someone that was dear to your heart, and shows how, so long as you go the extra mile and give it your very best shot, all things are possible and you just never know what fate might have in store.

One is left at the end with the vague feeling that not everything has been satisfactorily explained and that some unanswered questions remain, but these questions pale into insignificance against the main point of the story. You simply cannot fail to be moved by it.

I remember watching this movie for the first time when I was about 14 year old. I am 31 now. I have two sisters and I would do the same thing for either one of them as Sam did for his sister. It is true what Charlotte said at the beginning of the movie. There is no greater love then to give your life for a friend. At first Sam doesn't understand this concept, but after his sister is kidnapped by an unknown Indian tribe, he goes on a seemingly impossible and long dangerous journey to find her. Once he does, a situation develops and he discovers in order to save her life, he must sacrifice his own. It is a race against the sun (literally) in his attempt to save his sister.

The ending scene was so powerful. We learn just how far that great love for a friend can reach and in a way that you would never expect. The realization of the power of that love will make your heart weep in joy and sadness. Without giving more of the ending away, let me just say this, there are so many emotionally filled dynamics to the last scene, I cried like a baby.

There is one reason why this movie does not get 5 stars. If you have not seen the movie, I would stop reading at this point. I cannot understand why Charlotte ended up pregnant by the man who kidnapped her. Did Charlotte accept her new life with this tribe and over time, fell in love with him? That was the impression I got. I suppose in a real life situation, something like that can happen, it just bothered me. I felt the movie could have done without that. From a brother prospective, I would be so angry to know the man who took my sister away impregnated her.

i would not buy this dvd. the company timeless media group did not do very well making this dvd. the icon tmg is in the movie and the picture quality and audio is not very good
