Shea Dresden might be brilliant, but her PhD is not going to keep her warm at night. She's tired of being the quintessential good girl. Taking a walk on the wild side is a small price to pay to get Ryan McCall in her bed. He's the most ruggedly, insanely gorgeous man she's ever laid eyes on, and Shea is determined to get under his skin. Ryan has been dodging her since she moved in next door, but if Shea has anything to say about it, that is about to end.

ATF agent, Ryan McCall, likes his woman stacked, experienced and temporary. He's a stubborn hard-ass who won't be coaxed into any permanent bonds. With one disastrous past relationship under his belt, one night stands are his style and that's the way he likes it. Though Ryan won't admit it, his pixie-sized neighbor Shea has him rattled. Her innocent blushes turn him inside out, and her shy advances have him twisted in knots. Ryan is determined to bottle up his needs, deny his wants, and keep Shea at arms length. He knows she'd run far and fast if she knew half of what he wanted to do to her.

A man on the edge, Ryan is both angry and frustrated when Shea turns up the heat. His need for her is savage and raw, and when he breaks, their relationship takes a decidedly carnal turn. Though Ryan tries to convince himself its all physical, his once formidable walls are displaying hairline cracks from Shea's emotional assault. She loves the entire man, and Shea's resolute in her stance that she won't settle for anything but the whole package.

The verbal and physical interactions between Ryan and Shea in Against the Wall are simply explosive. Ryan is a dominant alpha male who likes his sex rough, hot, and sweaty. He is a primal force to be reckoned with, and Shea has her hands full once he lets loose. Shea may be pint-sized and soft, but she is strong-willed and resolute in her goal to capture Ryan's hardened heart. It was fun and fascinating watching her slowly wrap Ryan around her finger just by simply being Shea. While reading this book my eyes glazed over many times with steam, and I was squirming in my seat. One bookstore scene in particular had me reaching for my husband to put out the fire. Ms. Byrd has a distinctive writing style that enflames the senses! I very much recommend Against the Wall.

Mrs. Byrd is a author to watch out for. Not only does she write great sex but she also shows the characters love for one another and most important to me - FIDELITY! Yes, I guess I am old fashioned but I like that in romance and she gives it in spades. Ryan was a hot one and Shea was his equal match it just took him some time to figure it out. Hot Sex, Hot Characters, she has outdone herself again. And there no offense taken to all Holly fans I like her too but unfortunetly fidelity is not her strong suit.

If you want the ultimate Alpha Male, a feisty, fairly innocent woman, and hot, raw, erotic sex from cover to cover, this is the book for you. Do not look for a plot, because it is practically nonexistent. Just sit back with that bucket of ice and enjoy the ride!!!
