I purchased this camera to do a project on my sleep patterns. I wanted to monitor myself sleeping throughout the night. To turn on the infrared LEDs you need to install the Agama Button Manager, which crashes every single time my computer comes back from being idle. Also, the company mentions nowhere that the infrared lights will turn off automatically after about an hour or so. I called customer support (numerous times before being able to speak with anyone) and was told it is an internal hardware feature. I asked if there was any way I could stop it from turning itself off and was told no, there is not. So if you plan on using the infrared feature for any type of nighttime surveillance you will only be able to do so for about an hour, that is if the Agama Button manager doesn't randomly crash, which it does frequently.

Horrible camera! Super crappy resolution and the night vision won't stay on. I turn it on and it goes off 10 minutes later or less. Also, it makes me install 2 separate programs for it. One to view and manipulate the camera and another to control the night vision. Also the microphone is really low and grainy. It does not pick up sound very well. I would not recommend this camera and consider it a waste of money.

I bought this camera to use as with my newborn son. I set up the camera with YAWCAM (free software) to monitor him via my iPhones while he sleeps. The camera works great for 10-45 minutes (varying times) before the IR function turns off. This is extremely annoying since the computer is in his room and I then have to remote into the computer to turn the IR back on. So, I use another free program called Do It Again that basically runs a macro to turn the IR back on every 10 minutes.

People who buy this camera should only do it for night time chats that vary between 10-45 minutes. Otherwise the camera is hardly worth the money. Even at $20ish.

the resolution on this camera is not that great, 1.3mp is tough. from 5-10 ft away you cant make nothing out of the camera.

I think that for the price that i paid is an excellent product.. The resolution is not the best. But i using this camera as SECURITY CAMERA, because it has Night Vision and also a Microphone..

I don't know why there are people saying that the night vision is turning of after 10 minutes.. i just deselected the AUTO option and move the exposure on -14 and it works perfect..

I used this camera to take time-lapse videos of my pets at night. The IR light flickers so only every third picture (1frame/min) was illuminated. The range of the IR is good only for video chatting (1-2ft range). The colors are bad during normal lighting conditions and the noise on this cam is very high.

Alternatively, get an IR-sensitive webcam and a strong IR illuminator.

I bought this camera because I am trying to use a Mac laptop as a video monitor so I can view my 9 month old when he is sleeping.

The product description says that it works with Macs but only in the sense that any USB device can work on a Mac.

The included software which is necessary for operating the LED lights (for night vision) only works on a PC.
