UPDATED REVIEW 04-17-09: I've finally heard back from the manufacturer. They tell me this game is NOT Windows Vista compatible.
ORIGINAL REVIEW 04-14-09: This release appears to be defective. The PC DVD has several issues I've noticed so far: 1) From the screen that automatically launches when you insert the DVD, you can click into submenus for each game - however, clicking "Install" for all three of the titles has no effect. The only way I could get them to install was to launch the installer for each game individually by navigating to the proper folders on the DVD using Windows Explorer. 2) The cut scenes (the video sequences) for Evil Under The Sun are missing. The characters reference seeing something, the screen goes black, then fades back. No cut scene. How am I to sold a mystery if I don't get to see all of the content? 3) From the Evil Under The Sun main menu, clicking "Credits" has no effect. My attempts to reach The Adventure Company (Dreamcatcher Interactive) technical support have been unsuccessful. [...].

I have Windows XP and had no problem installing this game. Two of the games require patches that were easily downloaded by going to the Adventure Company website. The games are like the Nancy Drew games and are not Hidden Object games. I completed the "And Then There Were None" game which can have different endings depending on what you do in the game. A few times I was wondering what I was supposed to do next to get the chapter to end - it automatically ends when you finish what you need to do to get to the next chapter. It was challenging and I enjoyed playing it. The only problem that I have is my 12 year old daughter took over my game when I started playing "Murder on The Orient Express". We haven't starting playing "Evil Under the Sun" but I don't expect any problems. Overall I really like the games and if you enjoy games like Nancy Drew, you will also enjoy these.

I have tried to install this game on 5 different top of the line Dell computers, all updated with all the latest updates and drivers. Will not install. A file is missing from the CD.

Works on Windows 7...with a little detective work,

The version I purchased was listed as Vista compatible on the package. The reviews below are correct in that it will not install directly from the autorun. When you load the DVD, windows 7 should give you the option to view the contents of the disk. If it goes right to the menu, exit and go to my computer. Right click to open and view contents.
There are a few subfolders (MOTOE = Murder on the Orient Express, EUTS = Evil under the sun, and so on). Within each subfolder are the setup.exe files. Double-click on these and windows should do its thing. My install for the first two games was smooth. Evil under the sun did freeze up on me in Windows installer (3 times). I am not the most patient, so I just cancelled out until it worked. No problems so far. I really enjoy the games. I saw their reviews on Wikipedia were less than stellar, but as an Agatha Christie fan, the are an enjoyable escape. For ten bucks or whatever they are going for, it is worth the effort to get them up and running.

I tried over and over and over to install any and all of these games on 2 separate computers (1 with Windows XP and 1 with Windows 7). No luck!!! I even tried to install going through windows explorer. When doing that, the disc would just spin and spin.
It seems this must be a VERY common problem. You would think the company would have tested the disc before mass producing!!! Bad business.

I have played these three games about five times each now. I love the story lines and the game play. That being said, each game is slightly different and has it's own pros and cons.
~~~ Evil Under The Sun ~~~ In this game, Captain Hastings switches bodies with Poirot to try and catch a killer. As a point and click game, you can collect objects, use items, combine items, and investigate items. - Pros: You can always go back to London and get help from Poirot. The puzzles are interesting and there is definitely adventure to be had! - Cons: Poirot will not run so you end up watching him walk slowly from place to place. ~~~ Murder on The Orient Express ~~~ As Antoinette you assist Mr. Poirot in finding the killer of a very unpopular Mr. Ratchett. Game play is similar to the Evil Under the Sun game but you will also have to collect fingerprints and shoe sizes. - Pros: This game has the best story line out of all the games. The puzzles are mostly intuitive and there are some very nice twists! You can also go head to head with Poirot and score points. Antoinette doesn't dawdle so you don't sit for long periods of time just waiting for her to move to the next place. - Cons: You have to collect all the fingerprints and you have to collect a shoe imprint. You then have to compare the prints to each passenger, which is a painstaking process. Also, you should inspect each and every item you pick up because sometimes, you cannot move forward until you have inspected that item. ~~~ And Then There Were None ~~~ You are stranded on an island with ten other people. One by one, they start dropping like flies. You have to work against the clock to figure out who the murderer is before none are left! - Pros: The game has a very good story line with three possible endings, depending on the decisions you make. Puzzles are not too challenging while still being fun. You can run! I love to make characters run outside. - Cons: People talk a lot and sometimes information becomes repetitive. You can collect fingerprints but it's useless, because you don't really do anything with them. Overall, I think it was good fun. Each game takes about 6-8 hrs each. Definitely worth the $15 I spent on it!
I have Vista on my lap top and had no problems with installation. The games are great. I agree they remind me of Nancy Drew type of format. Enjoyed the graphics and the way the stories where presented. Very happy with purchase and it's quite a value to get three great games on one disc.
Great games. I had some trouble getting the DVD to play on my Windows Vista, but after I was able to work it out, the games played great. You might want to verify any format issues before purchasing this set.
