I am a huge fan of this series and loved Corine Solomon from the first book. She is a fantastic character and the stories were very well written. I did not love the previous book as I was just not feeling it and did not fall into the book as with previous installments. I liked Agave Kiss much more and the story with Booke was wonderful. We finally find out whats up with him. The story of Kel is hard but necessary as an interesting balancing act for this book.

In fact, I would say everything was very satisfactory with neatly tying up all the relationships, side stories and the final save that ends in one big HEA. Nothing was left dangling and almost everyone was very happy or at least had resolution of a sort. This is a good finale and I would recommend the Corine Solomon series to anyone that enjoys adult paranormal/urban fantasy.

It is difficult to review the fifth book in a series without revealing too much, but when it’s also the final book, it’s close to impossible. I wouldn’t want to spoil anything for those of you who have yet to read it, but there are things I need to say, and this is my final opportunity. I promise to be careful about spoilers, but please be patient with me while I wallow in nostalgia just for a little while.

Although it’s marketed as urban fantasy, the Corine Solomon series defies classification. It’s part urban fantasy, part horror, part high fantasy and at least seven parts pure awesomeness. I have a special place in my heart for authors who constantly cross genre lines and Ann Aguirre is the very best among them.

After the events of Devil’s Punch (God, I love that book SO much), Corine is in a very rough place. Just when she finally figured out who she wants to be with, she lost everything once again. Her powers took an interesting turn as well: there’s no more psychometry, but she has her mother’s magick and she intends to use everything and everyone at her disposal to bring the person she loves back to life.

Of course there’s no way for her to do it on her own, but luckily, she has a few friends she can count on. Eva and Chuch are always there for her, unflinchingly loyal and steady as rocks. Their relationship is possibly my favorite in this series and they are the main source of humor. Shannon is also there for Corine and she too has changed so much. I finally stopped seeing her as a stray puppy because she stopped acting as one. Self-confidence is such a wonderful thing, and by the end, Shan had it in spades.

Booke is also willing to help, but his own secrets need to be dealt with first.

Agave Kiss is the last book in the Corine Solomon series. Unlike some other series books this series has not held up as well. I finished the book because I have read all the previous books in the series. This is not a stand-alone book. You need to read each of the books in order. I was a little disappointed in the book. It tied up a lot of lose ends and there was a HEA for Corine and Chance. It was a very busy books with a lot of story lines that came together. I"m glad I finished the book but I have to admit I had to make myself continue several times before the end.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Associate Reviewer - Kathy M:
*Copy received from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review

Agave Kiss, Ann Aguirre’s 5th book in her Corine Solomon Novel series, is an action packed, emotional ride that keeps the readers on the edge of their seats.

Corine has a lot to do and only a short amount of time in which to do it. Somehow she must find a way to release a friend from a curse, rescue her guardian angel, and bring her lover back from the dead. Oh, and she has to do it without her magic. Needless to say,Corine has her hands full. And if she can keep herself from getting killed in the process, just maybe she will be able to accomplish it all and find her HEA.

Agave Kiss has a lot of stuff packed into 309 pages. As Corine finds herself overwhelmed, I found myself sometimes also overwhelmed. But despite that fact, I did enjoy this book.

LITERAL ADDICTION's Associate Reviewer gives Agave Kiss 4 skulls.

This was a series that started off with great promise but somewhere in the middle the author seemed to lose interest and just wanted to wrap it up. This book was that way too! In the beginning I thought it was going to make up for the disappointment of the last book. It started out building momentum then just fell flat. SPOILER ALERT! One of my favorite characters was killed off in this one and by the end I didn't like the main characters any more! Very disappointed!

Agave Kiss by Ann Aguirre is the end of a series, and this final book puts the heroine, Corine Solomon, a woman with magickal talents, and who can tell where an object's been by handling it, in another tight spot. As the 5th book in the series, readers are aware of how often Corine has to face up to the supernatural. Only this time, she's not dealing with a demon queen. Now, Chance, the man she loves is the person in trouble, and on top of that, there's an archangel out to fill his recruitment quota, and a bunch of demons who think that Corine owes them something. And this time, if Corine doesn't figure out a way to win, Chance is the one who will pay for her mistake.

Corine hasn't had an easy time of it along the course of this series, and that's a very good thing, for drama, and story, as well as the character overall. In order to get to the conclusion of this story, she has had to grow as a character, and so the ending of Agave Kiss feels earned.
There are other obstacles to overcome in this book, but primarily, Corine has to handle how best to get Chance back, and survive. Other characters make appearances, and the theme of the series, and in particular this book, is sacrifice, and each of them has had to give something up - the difference is the way in which they have handled it. As the story ramps up, and all the pieces are set up for the finish, Corine can rely on familiar faces, such as Church, Shannon, and Eva. Of them all, Shan has undergone some fairly profound changes in the series, and it's wonderful to see her blossom and step up when she's needed. Kel is also a major part of the story, and he's not the only one who will have things revealed that readers have been wondering about.
