Product Description

A fascinating account of the 2008 presidential campaign by distinguished political analyst Mark Curtis. This was one of the most historic elections in U.S. history, with the first viable African-American and female candidates. Having covered every Presidential campaign since Ronald Reagan's victory in 1980, Curtis has an encyclopedic knowledge of the process.

This book is a great chronicle of the 2008 campaign. Curtis traveled from coast-to-coast with all the candidates. Along the way, he spoke with average Americans in small towns and big cities alike. This book is about their hopes and dreams now that the voters have made their decision. It gives everyone the opportunity to relive this historic era from a new, informative and entertaining perspective.

Includes forty-one B&W photographs never before printed in any book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Political Analyst of our Times, Mark Curtis, January 17, 2009
Mark Curtis is one of the best political analysts of our times and this is evident in his new book, "Age of Obama." His brilliant insights reflect his profound understanding of American politics and the way in which it is shaped by the residents of Main Street, America. He takes what could be a dry and complicated subject matter, for some of us, and breaks it down into delicious, easy-to-digest bites of knowledge. The book reads like a fascinating road trip. His style is reminiscent of Studs Terkel. This is a must read.

(REAL NAME)
This book is insightful, humorous and is an in depth look at what a Presidential campaign entails. It is a good read and very entertaining. Mark is a brilliant political journalist with a great depth of experience in political arenas that enables his readers to understand the inside the beltway politics. This is a book well worth reading and owning.
