5.0 out of 5 stars It doesn't get any better April 12, 2009
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Pair the late Vince Gardenia and Hume Cronyn and you know what to expect. I don't know how many times I've watched this and delight in it anew each time I view it. A gem.

3.0 out of 5 stars Be prepared to be sad July 30, 2012
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
The acting is superb and the issues presented are compelling. However, this is very depressing, despite the attempt at a positive ending. Admittedly, their residence is pretty posh and they are well cared for by staff, so this is not about the horrors of a nursing home. It is about the sadness of growning old, having friends die, trying to placate family, and doing the best to "keep a stiff upper lip." I think good viewers for this film would be the children of an elderly person and really tough old people.

Loved it when I saw it on TV many years ago, (under the stage name of :~ 'A month of Sundays'.)
I was elated to be able to buy it from you recently, as I thought it was no longer available.

I bought the movie while researching for alzheimer's in-service. I didn't end up using this film in my training, but enjoyed it none the less
