Editorial Reviews

2009 album from the Brutal Death Metal band. Armed with new vocalist and underground Death Metal icon Matti Way (ex-Disgorge and Cinerary), Pathology prepare to devastate the Brutal Death Metal genre with Age of Onset. Groove laden, blast heavy, and gore inspired, Pathology is the modern day horror of sickness!

5.0 out of 5 stars Age of onset, June 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Age of Onset (Audio CD)
i don't know why this got a bad or decent review by 2 people on amazon but this album is sweet, its the first pathology with Matty W. on vocals from many brutal death groups, the biggest is disgorge (US) and this album is pretty much a disgorge cd with way more technicality and memorable moments through out . So if you haven't heard this you should pick it up its so cheap new why not? I would also recommend their 2nd album with Levi F. out of disgorge as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars idk why dude hated this, February 11, 2010
This review is from: Age of Onset (Audio CD)
first off this record is no where near as bad as the dude in the other review said it was. its a decent album, not amazing but not terrible. the songs are all well written for the genre, and im a big fan ov the crazy reptillian deep gutteral vocalls... if your into heavy musik i would recomend buying this, i would also add that there are other bands that offer a bit more.... DEVOURMENT, INGESTED, ANNOTATIONS OF AN AUTOPSY, and VIRAL LOAD offer a bit more and i would suggest checking them out if your into these guys

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible, August 22, 2009

This review is from: Age of Onset (Audio CD)
This is just a horrible representation of brutal death metal. I've been listening to death metal, more along the lines of brutal stuff like Unique Leader/United Gutteral style, for over 12 years now. This new Pathology CD is just a really really weak version of it. The weakness all starts with the extremely monotonous, boring and brutally typical(probably the only "brutal thing about pathology is how brutally bad the drumming is) drumming of Dave Astor who prides himself on being in the Locust and Cattle Decapitation as you can tell from his extremely boastful my space page. My love of Cattle Decapitation and Matti Way-era Disgorge is actually what made me check this CD out. I still wonder why the hell Matti even gave this dude the time of day. Its a pointless and horribly disappointing record. I've checked out the other Pathology titles as well and they're even more horrible if that's even possible.

Get rid of the drummer and there might be a possibility here, as the riffs are almost "ok" but you probably just won't get past that really dumbed down drumming. Its like the drums on Cattle Decapitation's "To Serve Man" release, which I think is what ruined that release, just much much more boring. And he never gets past a certain speed. There's so many insane things drummers can do nowadays, why even bother with this guy and his unforgiving repetitiveness? Get a new drummer Pathology and you might not suck as bad as you have thus far!
