Book Description

Deep in the Laotian jungle during the Vietnam War, two American POWs survive torture and depravation with cunning and fortitude. The soldiers, Steven Ballard and Crocker Davidson, form an unbreakable bond as a result. After an amazing escape, in which Davidson risks his own life to save Ballard's, the two leave the military and embark on their separate lives. After a decade of no contact with each other, they are unexpectedly reunited when Davidson, a career assassin for the CIA, is in mortal danger. Ballard, a civilian with a successful business and family, attempts to repay his debt by risking everything to save Davidson's life.

This is a riveting story with all the elements of a great plot: adventure, intrigue, international espionage, and romance. It will take the reader across time and around the world as it covers a spectrum of social issues, including race relations, poverty, war, and unchecked government power.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great read. May 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Start in 1967, take two Air Force pilots in Vietnam, mix with a POW camp that has a couple of head doctors, an escape, and you've got a great start to this story. Now add some rogue CIA agents in 1978 and it gets real interesting. Simply put, I couldn't stop reading until it ended. This is a highly recommended tale.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Very Good Summer Read June 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A good read. The only criticism I would have is that some of the dialog was a little stilted at times. The plot was innovative and the twists and turns were quite unlike any I've read in similar works. I'm not generally much for novels, but this one held my interest.
