Better than a warm bed on a rainy day,

There is something about this fragrance that truly catches the nose and stirs emotions, perhaps it's the sparkling aldehyde that makes it smell like a mix of ancient history and warm flesh, whatever it is, it works and forces me to focus on the scent all day. This really lasts, I mean for hours, even if I do a quick spritz in the morning I can still smell it wafting up eight hours later, if anything it evolves into a truly seductive and succulent scent, changing faces as the day progresses. This can be best described as a warm, modern aldehydic mood; it's sophisticated and unusual yet very wearable and alluring, it amplifies the top notes and adds a sparkle to the overall fragrance, making it almost bubbly. Aldehydes are actually synthetic fragrance molecules that are man made, Coco Chanel being the first one to request this from her perfumer way back when she got her favorite scent Chanel No.5 created, which is an aldehydic scent, it doesn't sound glamorous but it smells very sexy.
White lotus, white ylang-ylang, violet , jasmine and orris bud are layered over musk, amber, suede and rose absolute, hard to imagine I'm sure what that all smells like but the more I wear it the more I love this rich and opulent scent. It reminds me a tiny bit of honeysuckle, which I usually don't like in perfumes, but with a steep drop into the hot zone, if I had to sum up the scent in objects and colors then I'd say it's a mix of gold, violet, the pyramids, prefect sunsets and warm skin. It's velvety, rich and dreamy, something that took time to love strangely enough, but I love wearing and smelling it all day. - Kasia S.

Floral Aldehyde? Not to me.
AP Maitresse is a very ordinary floral musk that opens sweet & almost cloying (likely the jasmine). As it dries, rose and powder become more pronounced on me. The base is musk, not patch, not amber, not suede. Longevity is below average for an EdP. AP Maitresse reminds me A LOT of Paris Hilton by Paris Hilton but without the fruit on top. I'd highly suggest PH to anyone who likes Maitresse but not the price. I wore PH for a few months until I discovered other things that I loved more. Maitresse is in the same camp. I understand how Maitresse can be liked, even loved, but it's not for me. Maitresse is so unnworthy of a bottle that I won't even be keeping my mini. I love the unabashed & shameless style of the original AP but Maitresse is boring and very BTDT in my opinion. A huge disappointment. Thankfully, I only purchased a mini.
