Agent18 ClearShield Screen Protector for iPod touch 2G, 3G (Clear)

Clear, 2 piece plastic cover. Fits well with easy, open access to volume, off/on and the two ports at the bottom of the iPod. Plus: Its clear, so you can see the cool silver back of the iPod, the apple logo, etc (if you care). The case is very thin so it does not add a lot of bulk, and does not detract from the "cool" look of the iPod touch (although, its obvious this thing looks the best without a case). The case is two pieces, snaps shut easily and firmly. To open the case, you need a coin to insert in a slot on the top corner. Use a coin, if you use a screwdriver or something like that, you will mar the plastic which is (relatively) soft. Ribbed edges on the sides of the case help with the grip when you are holding it. The case barely intrudes on the front screen, just at the edges. I left off the included screen protector, I hate that plasticy, bubbles-trapped-under-it cover over such a gorgeous screen, especially a touch screen. I keep my iPod in a felt pouch when I am not using it so the screen stays protected that way. I had a case like this from Agent18 for my iPod classic for years, it protected it through many drops. If you want a clear case that shows off your iPod's "natural" beauty, this is a good one. I rate it 4 stars and not 5, because I think its ridiculous that a piece of plastic is priced at $24.

The case itself is great. I've had many iPod cases in the past, as I've had many different iPods, but mostly leather cases and not clear plastic. The plastic on this particular case is a bit frosted on the back, instead of a shiny plastic, which is good because it won't show scratches as much, and primarily why I chose this clear case over a few others. The case closes snugly around the iPod Touch, and is not easy to reopen, which again, is a good thing.

The only downside to the package, is the screen protector that they include. It is a anti-glare screen protector, and although it went on REALLY easy, with no bubbles, I really don't like the way that it gives the screen a dulled down grainy look. This is of course preference, but the iPod Touch's screen is so nice, I don't want it masked in any way. So I'll have to run out and get some 'normal' screen protectors tonight that are clear. I'd rather wipe off the fingerprints from time to time and deal with glare than alter the look of the screen itself.

Other than that, its a great case and highly recommended!

I have to say, I really would have rather not bought a case for my iPod, but the Touch feels like it will slip right out of your hand and break on the floor. It is a gorgeous little device, but the steel back is slippery and made even more slippery from the oil of your skin. Also the casing is very prone to scratches. So my criteria for buying a case was one that did not detract from the attractiveness of the iPod, had a solid construction, and was one I did not ever have to remove. The last two criteria limited my search to hard cases.

Let's face it. No case is going to fully meet my first criteria. All cases, including this one, are ugly and made more so by the fact that the device they're holding looks so much cooler without it. However, I noticed that most of the hard cases have solid backs, which made no sense to me. Why cover up the shiny silver with a bland white or black plastic? So the Agent18 product looked good because it did not attempt to cover up or outshine the iPod.

Still, there is more than one case similar to this one. The clincher was the dock adapter they include with the case. Other cases either do not fit in the dock, or have a detachable bottom. Again, I did not want a case that I would have to remove. Not only does this undermine the protection, but the act of removing and re-attaching a hard case can risk scratches in itself. I also am not wild about the idea of getting a case that will limit my other accessory choices. So the adapter I thought was a very thoughtful addition, and won me over. I enjoy being able to plop it down into the dock without hassle.

As I said in my title, I am reasonable satisfied with the purchase. It not only protects the back of the iPod, but is more comfortable in my hand. It also does not smudge like the stainless steel, suppressing my natural inclination to constantly wipe it down. Ha I think it could be more transparent than it is, and it does add more bulk than I would like, as slim as it is. I don't care for the large "Agent18" inscription on the back, but what can you do. I did not bother with the screen protector, but purchased the Anti-Glare Film Set for iPod touch 2G instead. So I can't say it's the best thing since sliced bread, but for my purposes it's better than the alternatives.

When i accidentally dropped it with my agent 18 shield protector, it didn't crack or anything bad. it was the same and was protected 100%

The ClearShield is easy to install, has a helpful removable screen protector (in case you mess up getting it on the first time) and, being clear, allows you to see the back of your iPod touch, which is essential if you have engraving and it looks cool even if you do not. The shield does not add much at all either to the weight or to the bulkiness of the iPod which is great. The one warning (not a criticism) is that the case is very smooth so do not expect it to have as sure a grip as a rubber case, but there are groves on the side that greatly enhance the tactility of the case over the unprotected iPod while still adding a very protective layer. Personally, I like the smoothness as it allows me to get it out of my pocket easily and a rubber case would surely require more effort.

Recently purchased an ipod Touch 8GB 2G, and needed something to protect it and help with the ton of fingerprints on the front and back. Looked around and had some trouble determing what was best for my needs as I wanted screen protection and the ability to use the dock with my Logitech speakers.

Unlike others I had no issues putting on the screen protection, and the case just snaps on easily (I haven't tried to remove it yet.)

No complaints .. the dock adapter works great .. actually it works better that the one that came with the touch. Very happy with purchase.

So I've had this case for about a week or so...I love the look and design, it looks really nice and sleek. Doesn't add bulk at all. The one thing is that it is kinda slippery when your hands are dry..but if your hands are sweaty its not..LOL..idk...I've dropped it a few times bc of that but only on a table thank god. ALSO I have dropped it on tile floor at school when it was in my sweater pocket, VERY GOOD PROTECTION. The case didn't break apart or anything like how other ones would..and it was a pretty high drop.
The screen protecter seems pretty good quality to me. It's glare proof, but because of that it makes the screen a bit grainy, but I don't mind. Easy to put on, but i kinda messed up the placement cus I was rushing..so DON'T RUSH while applying. Doesn't smudge too bad either. Shouldn't have air bubbles if you know how to apply it..it's pretty hard plastic so it should be easy to apply without bubbles.

PROS:
-nice, sleek, not bulky
-clear
-durable, good protection if you drop it. Won't break open.
-good screen protector ~scratch resistant, glare proof, nice feel, smudges don't show as much
-docking adaptor...though I don't use it

CONS:
-The holes for ports and the corner where there's a hole to put a coin to open it causes dust to get in..and scratches your ipod a bit. But I think all cases are like that..correct me if I'm wrong. I just get a little tape and put it on the corner to block the hole. Also open to clean it once in a while.
-Kinda slippery if your hands are dry
-scratches...of course it does, but yeah...lol
-PRICE! needs to lower atleast $10

I've researched a bit online for cases and so far this seems to me like the best one out there...so if your thinking about buying this one...JUST BUY IT!...it's good :]

A Great case Very Thin Does Scratch And very Light Wight Highly Recommend it A+++++++++++++

This case was easy to put on and allows you to enjoy the nice silver finish of the ipod. It's also easy to access the buttons and outlets. It definitely protects the ipod from scratches and smudges, but I don't know how much it would cushion the impact if you dropped your ipod. The only other negative I see is that the plastic screen cover goes on somewhat bubbly and mine had a sticky bump that you can see on the screen edge.

I love it. Its sleek and sturdy. I also like the fact that it comes with a screen protector and dock connector. So the price for it is just fine. Its everything I wanted and I am very happy I bought it. Its not completely clear, it has a LITTLE fog to it but you can see the apple logo just fine.

seriously this is perfect. WAY BETTER THAN ALL OF THE OTHER PLASTIC COVERS I'VE SEEN.
