4.0 out of 5 stars Official Dreamcast Wheel
This wheel has 2 minor flaws which I must point out. First, there's no pedal (which I prefer since I can react faster with my hands than my foot). Second, there's no room for the Jump Pack - well, sorta. To enable to make the jump pack fit in the slot where the memory card is located, you simply have to "MAKE A HOLE". You see, the hole as is won't fit the jump...

4.0 out of 5 stars Official Dreamcast Wheel, February 20, 2000

This wheel has 2 minor flaws which I must point out. First, there's no pedal (which I prefer since I can react faster with my hands than my foot). Second, there's no room for the Jump Pack - well, sorta. To enable to make the jump pack fit in the slot where the memory card is located, you simply have to "MAKE A HOLE". You see, the hole as is won't fit the jump pack, so you have to "MAKE A HOLE" big enough for the jump pack to fit. I have tried it; and it WORKS! It still looks nice since the whole is in the back of what is now a jump pack. Yes, I can still use the memory card if I wanted to.

Now the good stuffs. The wheel works great with all of my racing games, like Sega Rally 2, Monaco Grand Prix, Flag to Flag, Hydro Thunder, Vigilante 8, Speed Devils, and the one and only Crazy Taxi. However, the Vibration option is grayed out so that it can't be turned on. Which is pure BAD programming in my book. Developers, please take good notes. But other games rumble like crazy.

The wheel handles very well. I've tried the Interact Concept 4 wheel, but it didn't feel right - handle was too loose and too many wires sticking around. Agetec wheel is perfect. The handling is perfect with all the games mentioned above. The button locations make sense also. Give it a try. You can't go wrong with the official dreamcast wheel. (While you're at it, do yourselves a favor and pick up the Agetec Arcade Stick as well.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Official Dreamcast Wheel-A definate winner!, March 4, 2000

This wheel is very sturdy and can take a lot of punishment. It does NOT have pedals, which many don't want anyway. Instead of pedals it has variable "triggers" on each side of the wheel which work great. I have used it on most of the racing games without any problems. The only reason that I didn't give it a 5 star rating is that you can not use a tremor pack with the wheel unless you modify the holder, which will void any warranty. Have Fun

4.0 out of 5 stars The only official Dreamcast wheel is a bit of a disappointme, January 10, 2000

If you want pedals with your wheel, look elsewhere. The biggest downfall of this wheel is the lack of the pedals. The alternative shift levers can be frustrating during intense gameplay, especially with games like Sega Rally 2, which the wheel is meant to be played with. There's somewhat of resistance on the wheel, but I prefer a smoother wheel because it is very difficult to steer sometimes. The wheel does have a quality and sturdy feel to it but it's missing some essential features. For another 10 bucks, you can get another wheel. But if you have to have the official product, then this is the only option you have.
