The Conversation Starter,
By Elaine (New York, New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Aging Answers: Secrets to Successful Long-Term Care Planning, Caregiving, and Crisis Management (Paperback)
I thought the book was great. I think people need to keep in mind that this is meant to help families start the conversation about long term care and it is meant to help point people in the direction of resources that already exist. Aging Answers is not a long book, but it has all of the information a family needs to find the right care, and make better decisions. The resource section in the back of the book is particularly helpful. The stories in the front of the book are meant to help us understand that long-term care can happen to anyone at any time- and that's why it's so important to plan ahead if you can.Thanks- I thought it was a good read, and something I will pass on to my parents and family members.

Choosing a Nursing Home,
By A Customer
This review is from: Aging Answers: Secrets to Successful Long-Term Care Planning, Caregiving, and Crisis Management (Paperback)
I recently went through a long-term care crisis with my family, and I had to choose a nursing home. A friend gave me a copy of Aging Answers after seeing the author on the Today Show. There is a whole section dedicated to choosing a nursing home- the questions I should be asking. I am now satisfied that I have helped my parent choose the right nursing home. I needed quick simple answers to my questions, and the book did just that!I think everyone should read this or keep it as a reference. Sandy

Compelling and Informative,
By "tellthetruth2" (Detroit, MI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Aging Answers: Secrets to Successful Long-Term Care Planning, Caregiving, and Crisis Management (Paperback)
I recently read Aging Answers. I would recommend it for any family. It's not a long book, but it helped me understand elder care much better, and it gave me resources that will aid me in the caregiving process. It also helped me understand why I should be planning ahead for my own future longterm care needs. My insurance agent shared it with me, and I am so glad he did.I even called the author and she was very willing to talk to me about my specific situation. Thank you Valerie for being so nice and taking the time out of your busy schedule to listen.

A Clear Message,

This review is from: Aging Answers: Secrets to Successful Long-Term Care Planning, Caregiving, and Crisis Management (Paperback)
Aging Answers helps families understand clearly that we need to be having these conversations with each other about long-term care needs now and in the future. There is not one book on the planet that can cover every possible scenario, and give information of every subject. This is meant to be a guide and a resource. It is purposefully written to be EASY to understand. I would recommend that every family have a copy. For people who are not internet savvy, the resource section is outstanding!

Short and not sweet,
By A Customer
This review is from: Aging Answers: Secrets to Successful Long-Term Care Planning, Caregiving, and Crisis Management (Paperback)
I was disapointed with this book, as most of the information could be found on the website by the author. I read this paperback in 1 1/2 hours, and didn't feel it deserves the $21.95 price tag. Most of the book is stories about people dealing with the issues and very few tips...only secrets. I feel $5.95 would be a fair price for a small paperback....save your money and go to the website.

My family and I were hoping to find more information in this book than it actually provided. We have found more information doing our own web search than the book could give us.
