Review
Hills' style is informal and accessible. Aging Well is a must for all ages. Through her book's stream flow quotations from her many readings as well as descriptions of exemplary elders she has interviewed, of people she has met during her volunteer work, and of her own personal experiences as she and her husband, Ralph, have aged. --

About the Author
Helen Hills was born Helen Kerst Runyeon in Reding, Pennsylvania. She spent twenty-five years as an employee of the U. S. Government, utilizing her writing skills in various positions, primarily with the U. S. Department of Education. During this time, she and her husband divorced, and she lived alone for fifteen years. She also acquired two horses, two dogs, and two cats. In early 1991, musician Ralph Hills came into Helen's life and they married in September of the same year. The following April, Helen retired, and in May she and her new husband moved with their animal menagerie up to the small town of Warwick in north central Massachusetts. Very soon Helen became a volunteer in the two Franklin County progrmas for the elderly that are described in her book.
