About the Author
Yves Thériault, décédé en 1983, fait figure de phénomène dans notre littérature. Auteur d'une quarantaine de romans, de plusieurs centaines de contes et de textes dramatiques pour la radio et la télévision, ainsi que d'une quinzaine d'ouvrages pour la jeunesse, son œuvre, traduite en une douzaine de langues, a été couronnée par de nombreux prix, dont le prix Athanase-David (1979), la plus haute distinction littéraire du Québec. Son roman Agaguk, qui a valu à son auteur la renommée internationale, a fait l'objet d'une adaptation cinématographique.
