Some of the other reviews here are just bizarre. They are little wooden pieces in fun shapes that work with the Agricola game or other games, just as described. The idea that they need to be tested, supported, etc. or else they aren't a good product is just insane. If you're the kind of person who can't figure out how a wooden game token works and figure you'll call up the tech support line or something to get help or return it because it doesn't do what you expected it to do (like get up and dance around the board on their own or something), then you aren't bright enough to be playing a board game in the first place and wouldn't figure out how to make the ones that Z-Man games packed with pre-orders either.

I bought two sets of these for my Agricola game. These are great. A whole lot better from the cubes that come with the game.

Great quality too.

These toys make Agricola a much more intriguing game. Having real animal shapes makes owning and differentiating the pieces much more enjoyable, especially for new players.

Made of wood, so they will probably last forever.

For most people it may be sufficient to represent their board game livestock with little wooden cubes. But where I come from we play PRISON RULES. The Animeeples force you to gaze deep into the tiny wooden faces of each animal in your flock as you weigh its life against its value for feeding your family. They plunge you directly into the gritty reality of peasant life in 1670. And while Pachelbel wrote his canon in D, Bernini sculpted his masterpieces, and Newton unraveled the mysteries of science, you will still toil in the muck and filth, desperately trying to just scrape together enough food to survive.

...oh, and the pieces are nice. One of the pigs was only half as thick as the others.

I purchased two sets of these to go with the game Agricola. I was pleased with the first set. The animals are definitely cute looking and go with the game well. The second set disappointed me. I had two animals (a cow and a pig) that had chunks of wood missing. The cow was missing the front legs - so I think I am likely going to toss it. The pig had a small chunk off the belly. Not horrible. In addition, there was white paint residue on the brown cows and black pigs. It was clear the manufacturer did not wait long enough for the sheep to dry before tossing them in with the other animals. This was quite annoying, but I was considering painting my cows in multiple colors anyway - so I guess this is my incentive to do that. Just know that the quality may not be consistent.

I thought these would be cute, and they are. My kid likes them.

But it turns out it's actually easier to use the cubes, they're a lot easier to move. And they have no up down or side -- drop them and they're right!

Otherwise the animals are cute, and could help those imagination-ally challenged.

Also, the software that comes with this is garbage (kidding... it's fabulous!)

I consider myself a person with a strong imagination, yet I can't help but love the tactile joy of having these pretty game pieces. Replacing the standard Agricola cubes with these well designed vegeemeeples and Animeeples just makes the game that much more fun. Having a pasture full of cute sheep and cattle is more fun to play with and look at then white cubes and brown cubes. The same can be said for the vegetables. These are slightly pricey I guess, but worth if you love Agricola.


In short, these are well made and look great and really help to bring more of a farm feel to Agricola.

Playing Agricola with these sheep, cattle, and boars is a lot more fun than playing with the little cubes that come in the game IMHO. I don't know the first thing about their authenticity or the safety standards under which they were produced, but the latter I'm not terribly worried about as young children aren't playing with them in my house.

My 22 year old son loves these animals. Every time we play Agricola, he's adoring the 'cuteness' of these little critters.

Really not much to review about a bunch of wooden animals other than to say it is more fun to use them vs flat discs when playing Agricola!
