Latino-Jew crew,
By Lil' Creeper (Los Angeles, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Agua Pa La Gente (Audio CD)
I am really feeling the new Hip Hop Hoodios album "Agua Pa' La Gente." If you like clever rhymes, cross-cultural fusion, and great musicianship, this is an album you need in your collection. Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish, or if you're not Jewish - their music transcends race or religion. Think either a more Latino Beastie Boys, or a more Jewish Molotov. The idea of a Jewish-Latino rap group is a bit gimmicky, but I must admit I like this group a lot and would recommend the new album to others.

I gotta say that these guys took it many levels beyond their EP!! I actually have a couple of friends who are both Latin and Jewish, and they bugged out when they heard these tracks! I'm not Jewish, but the beats are still great for my Saturday DJ sets, and the lines are funy as hell! I wish more "hip hop" were this refereshing!

This album is real hip hop, nothing corny (not child appropriate). It has positive self image messages, easier to relate to.
