Good musicians and creative arrangements,
This review is from: Al Agua Pato Latin American Music for Children (Audio CD)
It can be hard to find children's music in Spanish that parents can also enjoy, but this is it. These performers sing well and have put together some delightful arrangments of old standards as well as some new songs. My Spanish-speaking kids (ages 4 and 1) love it and always get up to dance during their favorites.

As a non-native Spanish speaker trying to expose our daughter to as much Spanish as possible (my husband only speaks English to her), this is a perfect CD with easily understood (i.e. not too fast, nor too many voices singing at once) and fun music in Spanish. The music quality is great and diversity of people singing (women, men, children) is broader than other CD's I've heard. Also, there are quite a few tracks!

I am native spanish and this CD is the closest to the music I've had when I was little. Music is soft with no annoying voices. My 4 month old baby loves it already. Many of the songs are fun to dance with and in others you can signal with your hands while singing. Highly recommended.

We have a 10 month old and we can only speak English to her. To introduce her to the Spanish language we got this CD of music and the whole family loves it, including the little one. We all love dancing around the living room while its playing. Its also has 5 or 6 spoken parts to expose the baby to the spoken word. Also, its been a great CD to put her to sleep with because to songs are so soft an pleasing. You can't go wrong with this one!

I teach Prekindergarten bilingual, and have been a music teacher for many years. I find this CD very well made, and musically very well done.

This is a great Spanish CD for children. It has native spanish songs that are fun to listen, sing and dance to. I play this CD all the time with my little girl and find myself singing the songs all the time. I have ordered other Spanish CDs that take an English version of a children's song and changes it to a Spanish version. A lot gets lost in the translation. If you are looking for a Spanish children's CD to listen to, I highly recommend this one.

Best kids music in Spanish I've found!,

I am a Music Together teacher and I'm from Venezuela. I have been looking for some music in Spanish for my kids that was not only educational in the sense of familiarizing them with the Spanish language but that we could listen together without me ending up with a screaming headache.
Most music for children in Spanish has very boring and didactic lyrics with a background of synthesizer music and a terrible singer who either sings to high or to low for kids pitch range, the majority of the songs are upbeat and in major tonalities, their is no variety for kids brains. This Cantare CD is different. Although the first song is not my favorite, I've grown to like it, all the other songs are very well made, they use real instruments and the arrangements are very well done. The CD has a great diversity of music from different parts of Latin America, but it also has some jazzy songs and a Spanish version of the hokey pokey that my 5 year old absolutely loves. After listening to the CD for a couple of days my two year old was singing, conga conga conga. There is also a diversity of voices just like in the Music together CDs, some songs are sung by two female singers and some by children, all the voices are pleasant not grating at all. The only thing I wish they would have done differently is to spread the tongue twisters throughout the CD instead of putting them all one after the other, I feel tempted to skip over to the next song. I plan to use this CD to teach a Spanish class in my daughters preschool it also has a companion book that has the lyrics in English and Spanish as well as the sheet music. You can purchase the book at the Cantare website, its not very high quality but if you want the sheet music it's worth it. The CD has the lyrics in it as well. Overall I'm very pleased with this CD and I highly recommend it. Its fun to listen for children and parents alike. Next on my list is salsa for puppies and kittens or something like that.

My son does not care for this CD it is more for older kids I would say 8 and up who already speak spanish becuse to learn the language and think you are learning songs it is not the case with this CD. There are spanish tongue twisters and other story type sayings. It is also more of a castellano spanish. It is kind of bland for my taste and as i said even my baby did not care for it.

I am from Uruguay, I love the one with the uruguayan drums of course (#5) but they are all good songs. I was thinking of playing them at my son's bday party but some of them are too slow for a party. This is a great cd to reenforce Spanish speaking at home! thanks!
