Okay, I must admit when I first heard about this group, I didn't except much from them to be honest. The were 6 pretty girls in a band, trying to sell popish music, something I've seen a million times before. So glad I was wrong. Actually, I discovered them by listening to then 16-year-old Valeria's songs from 'La Academia' and was blown away by the strength of her voice. So, I went searching for some more songs and discovered Marifer (the winner of 'La Academia') had joined a group called 'G6' ,which were made up of 6 (now 5 members, since Perla left) members of the contestants from the show. Since Valeria was in the band, I took a chance and listened to the entire CD. I must admit, from the titles of the songs, they seem very youthful and popish (which they are) but don't let that stop you from listening. Here are the songs:

1. El Quinto Dia-4/5. A very good opening track. Kind of electro-pop. Great vocals. If you listen closely, you can hear Jackie and Alex singing backup on the chrous and this sounds really pretty.

2. No Se Hable Mas- 3/5. I'm not a big fan of this song. The lyrics are kind of silly, but the music is nice.

3. Viernes en la cama- 3.5/5 I like the backup vocals by Fatima in the chrous. Young and fun. Kind of a fun party song.

4. Mas Alla de Dolor- 5/5. An AMAZING ballad! One of the best tracks on the album with beautiful solos by Marifer, Alex, Jackie, and Valeria.

5. Voy a Comerlos Besos- 3.5/5. A very cute song. This one features vocals by Alex and Marifer mainly.

6. Nada Queda- 5/5. Another beautiful ballad, featuring everyone from the band. I really love Jackie's voice in this song at the bridge. Slow and relaxing.

Format:Audio CD
G6, is a group that was created after the Mexican tv show La Academia... I didnt expect that after they finished, they could make a solid group as ther are... Yes... it's pop...yes... it the same concept of a pop group... but... you will discover great tunes... solid voices and catchy tunes... go for it... try it... you wont be dissapointed
