7a ahead sticks are fantastic,

Easton 7a's are fantastic pick if you are a non metal drummer. These are excellent for standard rock, to fusion, to jazz. They produce killer rimshots that resonate like mad. Excellent tip control on the ride. Great sticks.

This review is from: Ahead Drumsticks 7A (Electronics)
This stick is very standard in terms of dimensions and weight. It could be just a little bit longer, but then Ahead does not have longer in the same diameter. Like you must pick up these Tommy Lee monsters. To me 7A (used to be Joey Jordisson's) are very similar to what I used to play with before, Mike Portnoy's or Steve Smith's, with more durability. And much less strain to my elbow. I have been choosing Ahead since 1998, I used a lot of sticks, but honestly I never changed a sleeve. Usually the metal inside breaks before the sleeve must be replaced. But it does not happen before hours and hours of hard hitting. If I play live, I just bring 3 (new) sticks in case I drop one, because new ones never break. Rim shot is not as good as wood, but everything else is. Definitely recommended.
