I got these sticks for my birthday...I've never had to use another pair since(been about 7 months now) Its a shame too, I kind of like breaking wooden sticks every month on a cymbal! The bounce is incredible, i can play alot longer and faster. Only complaint and its a small one: Just like everything Metallica, its overpriced. Oh well. I won't pay $90 for shows anymore either.

i was very nervous about buying 30 dollar drum sticks... hell i'm not even an avid metallica fan... these were just the best ones amazon had at the time. They don't really feel much heavier than actual wooden sticks... but strangely enough after a while i started to notice improvement in speed. plus these are nearly unbreakable... i say nearly because they say the tips can break but are replaceable but mine haven't broken thus far. I don't really use them on stage because nothing beats the feel of regular sticks to me however I do use them at every practice and they haven't shown me one flaw.

I break wood sticks really fast because i play hard metal (and i play hard on my set too). But when i got these, i practiced every day super hard (harder than i usually do) and all that happened was a few scratches to the taper. THESE ARE SOME GODLY STICKS!!!! I can see why Lars Ulrich used them. But i would recomend you go to Ahead's website and check to make sure that these are the sticks you want in terms of length, weight, etc. you can compare them to regular sizes just to be sure. But If you break sticks a lot, I would definitively recommend getting these. Oh and the sticks sound exactly the same wood, without all of the shock going to your hands!!!!
