Transgenetics: Are You Ready For This?,
By
This review is from: The Ahriman Gate: Some Gates Should Not Be Opened (Paperback)
After authoring two memorable non-fiction books on spiritual warfare, Tom Horn unites with his wife Nita, exploding on the fictional scene with the haunting and powerful The Ahriman Gate.
I commend Tom for what he was trying to accomplish with Ahriman: that is, through the use of a fictional story, to introduce the reader to the frightening recent developments within the world of transgenetics, biotechnology, and nanotechnology through a Christian worldview. This worldview holds that the inspired Word of God should be used as a framework and foundation to understanding the past as well as what is to come. There is no more desirable result than to have the reader understand the sordid world of transgenetics through the lens of God's Word. Throughout the dialogue in the story, many important topics are breached which will normally not be touched in the pulpit, such as: * Nephilim - What lessons can be learned about the offspring of the fallen angels and human women? * Transmogrification - The ability of angels to manipulate matter and energy, and to shapeshift into human form. * Aliens - Is there life on other planets, or are these "visitors" simply the Biblical fallen angels and evil spirits masquerading as "grays?" * Alien abductions - Do victims of abductions actually physically experience what they describe in abduction accounts, or are they the unwitting pawns of evil spirits who, through remote viewing, implant thoughts, images, and experiences into their minds? * The stones of fire - What was the Lord referring to in Ezekiel chapter 28 when he said Lucifer was moving about in the "stones of fire?" Those who have read Tom's previous books on evil spirits and spiritual warfare know that he is an expert in the field. He deftly incorporates this knowledge throughout The Ahriman Gate to explain what the characters were experiencing and the entities with whom they were engaging. I highly recommend all of Tom Horn's work: the non-fiction Spiritual Warfare: The Invisible Invasion and The Gods Who Walk Among Us, and now the fictional title The Ahriman Gate. David W. Book Review: The Ahriman Gate....Keep it closed, please...
By Bruce Collins I have been reading one of the scariest and most exciting books I've read in a long time. The author, Tom Horn, also founded www.raidersnewsupdate.com, which is a website that is hard to typecast except to say that it is one-third Matt Drudge, Art Bell and Billy Graham. If you have not seen it, it would be worth your while to check it out. Personally, I now make it a daily stop. Returning to the book, 'The Ahriman Gate' is the perfect action book, harmoniously blending a tale of intrigue, violence, mayhem and purpose. Learning about Tom Horn and studying raidersnewsupdate.com, I realize that Tom Horn is the Tom Clancy of modern day phenomena and government cover up. He writes from experience. Everyone should benefit from reading this book. Entertained may not be the word to describe your feelings after reading 'The Ahriman Gate' but you will find it extremely thought provoking and well worth your time. Science fiction buffs will love the cool gadgets (which I would love to own but haven't found yet at Sharper Image). They also will like the UFO storyline that includes references to the face on Mars and those terrifying "Grays" (alien beings....or not?). Action buffs will love the terrifying scenes that are reminiscent of many of Governor Arnold's movies. Actually, this is Independence Day meets Predator meets James Bond meets the Exorcist. Spies, grays, demons, mythological creatures, spaceships, UFOs, Men In Black, government officials- it's all here and Horn creates an ambiance that made me feel like I was actually spying on the characters. In fact, this would make a great movie. There is a Christian theme or underpinning to the book but I think this book would appeal to everyone due to an incredible storyline. The action takes you in and it keeps you till the very end. I would recommend reading this book while visiting Raidersnewsupdate.com. Why? For one thing, the subjects that are dealt with in this book are going on today behind closed doors and this website often usurps 'overlooked' headlines that you may not find anywhere else. How's this for a thrilling twist? It seems that the government is paying attention to Mr. Horn. Recently, during an internet interview with Tom, 13,000 listeners were logged on from government computers. Who says this book is fiction? Kind of makes you want to rush out and buy it? I highly recommend that you do. Sincerely, Bruce Collins, former book reviewer for Monster Radio and book reviewer at www.americanchronicle.com and www.worldsentinel.com Tom Horn www.raidersnewsupdate.com www.ahrimangate.com

Not bad! BUT Could have been better.,
By Simon Magus (Japan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Ahriman Gate: Some Gates Should Not Be Opened (Paperback)
I'm not and avid reader. I enjoy reading but it takes me awhile to finish a book. The Ahriman Gate took me just two days to finish reading this 400 page. A new personal best! This book just seemed to dig it's claws into me and not let go. That having been said, parts of the plot of the book left me scratching my head wondering "where are the authors going with all this".
Good points: Very interesting concept, entertaining and generally well written. The (human) characters are well developed and believable. Bad Points: The author obviously wanted to combine all the popular myths of our time (UFO's, alien visitors, Bigfoot, MIB, secret societies, bible prophecy, etc) into one story. But all these elements, instead of giving the story depth, make the story a little "poogy" and lugubrious in places... Too many threads to weave into a proper story "cloth". I think that if the authors had focused more on character development, had a little more action and moved the plot along a little faster this would have been a great book. Conclusion: If your not religious or don't believe in God or Jesus then this book is most certainly not for you. When ever a character is in serious trouble they call out for divine help. There are at least 25+ direct bible passages quoted by characters. If you think that this would make you feel irritated/uncomfortable then give this book a pass. However, if you'd like to see the good guy empowered by a deep faith in the divine put boot to evil butt, then this book is for you. P.S. You can also get the Ebook in a PDF format for $8.00 from his web sight. Good deal if you ask me.

I Know Who Phobos Is!,
This review is from: The Ahriman Gate: Some Gates Should Not Be Opened (Paperback)
In 1978 I was youth pastor at a church in Oregon. Tom Horn was part of that church and taught the adult class once in awhile. Admittedly, he was one of the best Bible teachers I've ever heard.
A few years later he moved to Portland, Oregon and connected with a man named Donald Jones, a Ph.D. in Biblical History. The two of them wrote a book about mythology called "The Gods Who Walk Among Us". Connecting the dots between Tom, Dr. Jones, and the character everybody is trying to identify--Phobos in "The Ahriman Gate"--is not that difficult. Don Jones went to Bible college with the man that I believe is Phobos, who later became extensively involved with the current White House administration's first term and certainly positioned to know inside information concerning extraterrestrials. Additionally, Tom has been friends with Dr. William Carmichael, publisher of several Christian magazines and current CEO of VMI Publishers for years (the publisher of "The Ahriman Gate"). Mr. Carmichael served on several presidential committees during the campaign to put George Bush in office and is also a very close friend of the man I believe is Phobos. That man is... former Attorney General, John Ashcroft. It's common knowledge that Dr. Jones and William Carmichael associated with Ashcroft on numerous occasions, and given Carmichael's willingness to publish Tom's controversial and fairly transparent "disclosure" book, I'm confident I have correctly identified Ashcroft as "Phobos" of "The Ahriman Gate". I publically challenge the Horn's to prove that I am wrong.

More than meets the eye,
By Sgt Slaughter (New Mexico) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Ahriman Gate: Some Gates Should Not Be Opened (Paperback)
I had the opportunity of meeting Tom Horn at a conference many years ago in California. He was pastoring a church and had a daily radio and television show. I was working with the government back then, and some of the things Tom was eventualy willing to share with me told me that at some point he had received information most people are not aware of.
I'm not sure what is motivating him now, but some of what he knew back then plus evidently some new info has been woven into this effective end times thriller. I also know some of The Ahriman Gate is on target because when Tom was on the radio show "The Q Files", the shows host, Stephen Quayle, invited him to come back on again a few days later, and when he did, over 13,000 government and military computers, including the Pentagon, NASA, Southcom, Northcom and every branch of the military locked on to hear what he would say. Some of these institutions had as many as 400+ computers connected to that show at the same time. If THEY are interested in what Tom had to say, maybe we should be too.

Good read,
This review is from: The Ahriman Gate: Some Gates Should Not Be Opened (Paperback)
Style 2 Stars
Story 4 Stars Characters 3 Stars Creativity 4 Stars I Originally purchased this book because of the hype surrounding it. It was implied that the government didn't want us to read it. After reading this, it is demonstrably not true, but I am glad I read it. It is good Christian science fiction with a taste of Art Bell. The concept of the book combines government black projects with Genesis Nephilim and the antichrist. Joe Ryback is caught up in a situation that his dad was was murdered for when he was a child. It is set in the Northwest United States and it feels like you are there. The Nephilim according to the book were originally a civilization on Mars of fallen angels. They came down to Earth trying to breed out the lineage of David, and this was the reason for Noah and the Flood as he was the only one uncorrupted. This is why all flesh had to be destroyed. It comes off as a believable even to one who has a good grasp on the Bible. Genesis is interpreted and UFO's are the advanced science of Satan's Kingdom. Using this technology is banned after the flood. The Gate? You will have to read it, I'm not telling. Style: This is the weakest part of the book. The story jumps around in the first half of the book so much that it is easy to get lost. For three paragraphs you may be in a meeting room among government officials and suddenly you are at granny's house. Almost like a dream in some ways the way it jumps around. It would, because of this make more sense as a screen write. Story: The story itself is smooth and keeps your attention with the exception of a lull about 3/4's the way through, but since this doesn't last long it is not hard to muddle through. I particularly like the way the author is descriptive yet not overly so. I find being to descriptive makes my mind wonder from a story. Not this one. Characters: I gave only three stars because they were developed backwards. They suddenly pop in and it takes a while to get to know them. Some of the Characters you don't fully understand until near the end. Ryback a marine and the main character comes across as a vulnerable human being like the rest of us instead of some badass super hero, which I really liked. Creativity : It put a new spin on the Book of Genesis and the Antichrist. It was, while not original in concept, completely original in detail. One thing that I wished the Authors had left out was the LED invisible cloak, as it was hokey, and thankfully only employed once. Sample text: Sherri bit her lip. "Well... obviously Jesus, the Messiah came in the flesh, so what foiled the Devils Plan?" "A couple of things. First God commanded Israel not to intermarry with the heathen populations. This was so there might be a pure bloodline in Israel. Second. He Ordered Noah to build an ark to prepare for a flood that would destroy every living thing. The fact that God sent such a universal fiat of judgment like the flood illustrates how widespread the altered DNA eventually became. In fact, the Bible says only Noah, and therefore by extension his children were found perfect in their generation.... Noah was physically untainted; his DNA was not corrupted or altered by Annunaki as apparently the rest of the world had been."

Good story: provocative elements prefiguring Armageddon,
This review is from: The Ahriman Gate: Some Gates Should Not Be Opened (Paperback)
Writing - 3.5 stars
Science - 3.5 stars Story - 4 stars The Horns are neither exceptional writers nor revolutionary theologians but tell a very good story combining relatively traditional Christian doctrine regarding YHWH, the elohim, nephillim, the creation and subsequent fall of man, etc. with creative speculation on how emerging technology can generate some of the nightmares from Revelation together with many infamous elements of modern consipiracy lore. They are strong on prayer, the concept of the soul, telepathics, and bio-engineering but essentially clueless on the physics of EM/gravity field engineering. They are appropriately suspicious and relatively sophisticated about "underground" genetic research and projects but, in my opinion, very naive about secret field propulsion technologies. (They imply that the only such craft humans have are those we've retrieved from alien crash sites, that the UFO's seen flying around are all demonic and/or part of the Great Delusion, and that their travel is "interdimensional.") They are also, in my opinion, a bit simplisitc in dividing the panoply of sentient beings within the universe who have actually had contact with earth into humans, angels, and demons, inluding certain "gods" of legend. However, to be fair, those of their views which I consider overly naive or simplistic will probably be more palatable, if not reassuring to most Christian readers. Moreover, one can only put (or "disclose") so much in such a story before it becomes hopelessly complicated and confusing. And the Horns actually throw an amazing amount of stuff into their story. For those who are not already familiar with the various elements, it may be a paradigm shift to encounter this stuff in a novel, especially one in which Jesus is Lord. For everyone else, even those who have been exploring this bizarre stuff for years, it will be quite provocative, stimulating, and entertaining. If you have read this far among the reveiws, I heartily recommend you get it and read it. I would also recommend, by the way, the Ransom or Space Trilogy by C S Lewis, a great writer who, among other things, thought quite deeply about Christ, the meaning of salvation, and "man's place in the universe."

It took a while but I figured it out,
This review is from: The Ahriman Gate: Some Gates Should Not Be Opened (Paperback)
I heard Tom Horn being interviewed on a radio show and the host was asking him about secret codes in "The Ahriman Gate". Tom was evasive and after the show I did some google searching and found some chat rooms at Rumormills and Surfingtheapocalypse where people were talking about codes they had deciphered from the book. Then I read a review where this guy was talking about references in the book that lead to secret places at Raiders News Update. I finally found two invisible links, but couldn't figure out what they meant or how to use them, so I gave up. Frankly, I thought is was silly and a waste of my time. Then a few weeks ago I saw a road sign with some numbers on it and the same picture was at Raiders News Update. No explanation, just posted there. I called a friend, and she helped me figure it out. Now I'm not supposed to give away the secret, but if you don't get the codes in the book, you'll never understand what Tom and some of his radio friends are trying to say without saying it. I don't know if it's real or not, but it seems like they are serious.

Shocking Revelations!!!,
By ToddTech (Las Vegas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Ahriman Gate: Some Gates Should Not Be Opened (Paperback)
Excellent book and I must say after reading it I have a suspicion the internet buzz about the authors is correct-somewhere, at some level, the Horn's are connected to people who know more about ufo technology then they are saying.
I make this claim because I worked for a subcontractor several years ago doing top secret research on invisibility soldier garb and even for airplanes using the very science mentioned in this book. A couple key phrases tell me the authors know more about the technology than the general public. How they got this information is beyond me. As for the book itself, I'm not a Christian, so parts of it went over my head. I nevertheless found myself intrigued by what was fictionalized and how portions of the Bible were tied in to a horror story. It reminded me of Dean Koontz. I can recommend this book to anybody. Christians may like it most, but non-Christians will find plenty here to entertain and in some places maybe to scare them. A couple parts are a bit gross but understandable given one characters fascination with the occult. Now I'm off to see if I can figure out the codes that are purported to be in the book. I already got the part about the Internet site and the codes there, but some of the other codes I read about in chat rooms sound the best. I give "The Ahriman Gate" five stars and would buy other books by these authors in the future. |
