"THE BETTER BOOK"--more FARS and info than any other source

The #1 choice for the General Aviation Community

The annual AIM/FAR manual is back for 2002--and no other version of the Aeronautical Information Manual/Federal Aviation Regulations measures up to McGraw-Hill's blockbuster. This amazingly user-friendly, thoroughly indexed guide has more content for your money and is easier to read than other references in the field.

Essential to pilots, flight instructors, students, and fixed-base operators, the 2002 edition once again sets an unmatched standard of excellence, containing more Federal Regulations and pilot information regarding general aviation and charter operations than any other version currently available.

This "must-have" reference features FAA facilities direcoty--FSDOs, TRACONs, Air Traffic Control Centers, Towers--and State aviation directory. And to keep you on top of late-breaking developments, free updates are available year-round online. Additional benefits include:

* An easy-to-read, easy-to-use format
* All changes highlighted and explained
* FAA Flight Forum excerpts
* Important facilities directory: FAA, NTSB, Senate and House, FSDO, State Aviation Officials and more
* VOT sites and frequencies
* Pilot/Controller glossary
* Study suggestions for test and flight review

1.0 out of 5 stars This FAR/AIM misses the mark..., August 29, 2001
By
Jim P (Tampa, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Aim/far 2002 (Paperback)
Sorry to poo-poo someone's effort at publishing but this version of the FAR/AIM falls short of the competition on two accounts:
1. The FARs ARE NOT UP TO DATE! Specifically, 91.167 (the 1-2-3 Rule), which is updated in the ASA *2001* version, has not been revised in this McGraw-Hill publication! Sadly, the McGraw-Hill website does not reflect a timely update, either. (It still references the 2001 edition.) I am concerned that there are other, more pressing changes that are not current.
2. The AIM is only black-and-white, no color.
Because of reason #1, I will be returning this book, and will order the FAA-issued FAR/AIM.
