5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book Club Pick!!!! May 13, 2011
This book was chosen by one of our Christian Fiction book club members, and I'm SOOOO glad! I was hooked from the 1st page and couldn't put it down. I read it in two sittings. I loved all the characters, and was able to connect emotionally with each one right away. A great story of love, forgiveness, and redemption. A must read! I can't wait to discuss it at our book club meeting!

5.0 out of 5 stars pleasantly insightful! August 17, 2011

I really enjoyed this little gem. Simple and easy to read, but more challenging to the heart! As characters learn to get past their "selves" to pursue Christ and serve others, I found myself looking in a mirror. I've downloaded Kathleen's other books for an upcoming trip...I suspect they'll make great traveling companions!

2.0 out of 5 stars Undeveloped October 11, 2012
By G'ma
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I agree with the previous reviewer who said the character development was weak. To have the main character fall in love in about three brief and sketchy phone conversations is not realistic. To have her father be re-united with his daughter is a great idea in the plot, but happened much too fast after all those years of absence from one another. Even in the end for her to have the money from her father to have the corrective surgery and then not do it...after every thought of hers is about saving enough money for the corrective surgery...why wouldn't she do it? My Kindle version (albeit the $.99 version) was full of grammatical mistakes...most specifically quotation marks out of place or not where they should be. I'm disappointed in the editing as well as the writing.

Good book, let's ya know that true love comes from the heart. True beauty is on the inside. If only more people could see it that way. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique love story May 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Starts out sad because of Aimee being blamed for her mother's death, father disowning her because of that. She is left with a scared face and helps migrant workers at dark, A male comes into the picture, they fall in love, very good ending to it all.

2.0 out of 5 stars Easy Read June 4, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a very easy read, somewhat like a Harlequin Romance. Many grammatical and use of word errors. In need of editing properly. Finished the book, good for night time read and falling asleep, predictable. Same old boy meets girl, girl leaves, boy runs after here, all ends well. Other characters drift in and of course are helped by the protagonist.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ending too rushed
I loved the story line and could feel the heartbreak in Aimee living with her scar. I liked her relationship with the migrant workers. The end was too abrupt.

More About the Author

Kathleen Sprout has enjoyed a variety of activities in her lifetime . . . raising children, enjoying grandchildren, volunteering at her church, raising llamas, building dollhouses, playing the piano, and spending years in wildlife enforcement. During all this, her love for books never waned. From the time she was old enough to check books out of the local bookmobile, she's been a voracious reader. Just like many authors before her, she vowed as a child that she would write a book someday. And now she has written several. Her choice of genre is Christian fiction. She loves to show her characters growing and changing during their faith discoveries. Her characters may be a little quirky or flawed, but their journey is very similar to yours and mine.
