Hoku Zuttermeister was a big winner at the 2008 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. He was named Male Vocalist of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, Most Promising Artist of the Year, and also received Hawaiian Album of the Year and Liner Notes of the Year. Hoku's voice ranges from deep and resonating to high and crystal clear which always delights his audiences. He is still a young man, but he has been a part of the Hawaiian music industry for a long time. Hoku is also recognized for his guitar, bass, and ukulele playing abilities. He often performs with his mentors, The Makaha Sons. We think you will be hearing a lot more about Hoku as his career progresses!

It was worth waiting for Hoku Zuttermeister to FINALLY go solo. Of note, he won a Na Hoku Award this year (2008) for this album. If you appreciate traditional Hawaiian music, this is the one to buy.

Okay, bruddah, I don't know you personally and you wanted to charge me way too much to play at my daughter's wedding reception but after listening to your CD, especially Moanalua and Ka Ua Kilihune, a million plus times I still gotta say, "WTH took you so long?" You been holding out on us bra! Give us more of this stuff ASAP! And yeah, the Hoku was well DESERVED but no take too long to get back in the studio and do more of the same. REALLY good, tastefully done, traditional Hawaiian music is always a joy to my ears and my CD player is gonna be spinin' this one for years to come. Mahalo for this one and hope there are more in the works!

THIS CD IS A MUST FOR ANYONE WHO ENJOYS TRADITIONAL HAWAIIAN MUSIC. HOKU TOOK GREAT CARE IN SELECTING THE SONGS-ESPECIALLY LA LEIKAWA(#4)-ABSOLUTLEY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG EVER! THE MAKAHA SONS WERE THE EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS (WISE CHOICE FOR BOTH) AND HAVE HAD HOKU TOUR WITH THEM. THIS WONDERFUL YOUNG MAN'S TALENT IS INCREDIBLE AND HE'S A DELIGHT TO SEE PERFORM IN PERSON. DON'T MISS OUT ON WHAT WILL BECOME YOUR FAVORITE HAWAIIAN MUSIC CD!!!!!!!!!!!!
