Not his best work,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ain't Going Out Like That (Audio CD)
I'm not someone who has disliked Young MC. In fact, I have always been a big fan, even in the post-Stone Cold Rhymin' years when everyone forgot who he was. So I'm not biased.Having said that, this is a pretty poor album. The lyrics and production are second-rate, generic, uncreative and repetitive. There's not much good that can be said about this album. For those looking to rediscover Young MC in his post-top 40 years, I would reccomend getting any of his other albums besides this one, particularly "What's The Flavor", which is a very good album.

Not His Best,

I agree that this in not Young's best work, but it's also not as bad as others have indicated. The first song, "What it Look Like" is a tight track all the way around. "OH!" is a fun track with a catchy chorus that you'll find yourself singing. Young MC is someone who doesn't get enough credit for his talent. However, if you're curious what he's been up to since "Bust a Move," I would recommend picking up "Brainstorm" or "What's the Flavor?" over this album.

Marvin Young saved my LIFE.,

These reviewers are drooling fools who i'm sure have been to several Creed concerts and watch american idol every week. Young MC is intelligent, positive and full-on funkadelic and deserves better than this uninspired hackery. His early work shaped me as a man, kept me out of trouble and saved me from tragic mistakes in my 13 year-old, impressionable world. Even though at the time i never thought about the messages as i rocked out to the albums "Stone Cold Rhymin'" and "Brainstorming" -the messages seeped into my subconscious mind, listening on my walkman while i read, on road trips, in my room, sometimes when i fell asleep. songs like "know how" "keep your eyes on the prize" "inside my head" "think for a minute and use your head" "inside my head" "just say no" to name a few, helped provide a bass-bumpin' pathway for good decisions and successful thinking and i applaud him for it. i can't be the only kid that his message has helped, and this is my homage to his work...Thank You Young MC.
