Normally, I don't care for live albums, but these guys sound like they put on a fun concert! Until now, I hadn't heard of Dispatch, but I'm glad that I took the time to listen.

When I was 13, my Mom took my sister and I on a trip to Boston to visit some relatives and just have fun walking around the city. We watched Shakespeare in the park and rode the Swan Boats, and then we wandered into a massive ocean of people near the Hatch Shell. A band I had never heard of was giving their last "official" concert. I was mesmerized. My super cool Mom let my sister and I stay until almost the end of the concert when it got a little too rowdy and violent for two young girls. Years later, my sister and I realized just what an honor it was to have attended that concert. It's been since dubbed the "largest independent concert in history" and was attended by well over 100,000 people. And Dispatch picked up a fan for life. The studio version as well as the live version of "The General" included on here is simply one of my all time favorite songs.

This album is completely worth purchasing, much less picking up for free. Absolutely brilliant.

These guys are amazing. This is one of the best live albums I've ever heard, really. Something for everyone. These are folks that play music because they love it, and they want to share it with everyone. I encourage everyone to download this album, love it, and research The Elias Fund (eliasfund.org). Donate a bit to the charity in appreciation for their giving this album away.

But I guess that tends to go without saying when it comes to arguably the most successful independent band ever.
Seriously though, there aren't words to describe how much these recordings make me wish I could have been there for every single one of these performances.
The newer songs that really stood out to me:
"Beto" (!!!!)
"Josaphine"
"Never or Now"
"Valentine"

But pretty much every track is delightful, and every song gives me chills at different times for different emotions.

So, SO glad to have more DISPATCH music in my world!!

OK, I'm not usually too easy on the reviews unless it's something that blindsides me and Dispatch hit me like a Mack truck. Apparently these guys are BiG. Well, not too big on the West coast because I've never heard of them and I even listen to NPR (hehe). I'm guessing that they have a giant following because I haven't heard so many people singing along with lyrics since a Jack Johnson show in Hawaii.(And in case you didn't know, Jack Johnson is ranked right below King Kamehameha in the islands).

OK, this is a LONG album. 5 miles of beach cleanup and it still wasn't finished. I found myself standing around to hear more and that still wasn't enough time to get it all in. I finally finished the 26th song in the produce isle of Ralph's. Whew. So what did I do? Yep, played it over again.

Usually two listens isn't enough to review an album but after two days I've got five hours invested into these guys. I like the versatility in the music. A little folk, a little jam rock a little reggae some calypso and everything else that should fit in with the West Coast vibe. The live music if not perfect is clean and their passion comes through in large venues. I can't compare it to their studio outings but I will now give a listen to some of their other music. So, if you're west of the Rockies and you aren't registered in a UC school where you may have heard of these guys, by all means, BUY this FREE MP3. I agree with the other poster about 'How can this be free?" Good move guys. I hope that you break into the West Coast scene. We used to have bands like the Doors and more recently Incubus but now we just have to be torn away from Beiber and Kenye.(sigh)

DIspatch is an amazing live band. They know how to jam and make me feel excited about listening to music. I don't listen to modern pop music because it is so different from this. These guys have talent.

"Dispatch" a "live" album was a pleasant surprise to the ears. These entertainers offered good harmony , great banjo playing and a variety of music that demonstrated their talents. I couldn't believe that this was a free album.

At first,I hesitated to listen to it as I wasn't too impressed with the title of the Album. Once I started going through the various songs I was happy that I didn't let the title stop me. I was expecting some loud, off key, and noisy piece of music and was I really surprised by the great sounds I heard.

I feel almost anyone listening to this album will find some enjoyment from it.
