5.0 out of 5 stars Old folks boogie., December 5, 2011
This review is from: It Ain't Over: Delmark Celebrates 55 Years of Blues (DVD)
For more than 50 years, Bob Koester has recorded blues legends (Sleepy John Estes, Big Joe williams, Junior Wells, Magic Sam) as well as lesser known - but often not less talented - bluesmen.

For this special occasion (Delmark celebrates 55 years of blues), we get the chance to watch some of those bluesmen who got old now, but are still playing and singing like young folks :

- Jimmy Johnson, one of the best modern bluesmen who "deserved more than he ever received" ;

- Eddie Shaw who played his sax a long time with the Wolf and is at his top here ;

- Tail Dragger who really shakes the building - close your eyes, you'll hear the Wolf 40 years ago - ;

- and the incredible Arthur Duncan, much better here than on his Delmark dvd [Little Arthur Duncan : Live at Rosa's Blues Lounge].

The other performers are not as good, but there are few blues dvds with so many great performances. Don't miss it. And thank you for everything you've done for the blues and the bluesmen, Mr Koester.
