ONE OF THE GREATEST,
This review is from: It Ain't Over Till God Says It's Over (Audio CD)
I just wanted to say that James Moore was one of the most anoited gospel artist of all times. He had a voice that made you want to really know who Christ was and who you could be in Him.Brother James has gone home to heaven to be with Jesus and although we will miss him in the flesh, he will continue to win souls for the kingdom through his recordings.May he rest in peace until we meet again.

An Amazing Man with a God-filled Voice,
This review is from: It Ain't Over Till God Says It's Over (Audio CD)
The Rev.James Moore passed away this past wednesday. This has to be one of the greatest losses for gospel music....a greater loss for humanity. Having been in the music industry for most of my adult life has given me a unique perspective of understanding greatness. James Moore was a complete singer. His ability to modulate with ease, a controlled vibrato, a multi-ranged reach that was without effort all made him and this presentation admirable. However, the greatest and most enduring quality of this music was the instant sense of connection to and with the Creator. If you love great singing without the production tricks used to make average singers sound great, you will love this presentation. We should all thank God for allowing us to share and be moved by this great voice.

Rev. Moore has the most powerful, beautiful, inspiring, and soul touching voice I've ever heard. When I listen to the song Oh how I love Jesus, I cry. I know he so loved the lord. Its sad to realize we'll never hear that voice again but the memories will go with me everywhere through these and other recordings. May his soul rest in peace

Moore keeps it REAL -- his TESTIMONY!,

Truly, this is JAMES MOORE's TESTIMONY!!! I have always loved the fact the Moore does all of his recordings LIVE which keeps them REAL and HONEST, and most of all, from the HEART.On this particular album, the listener will find that Moore effortlessly sings and preaches (a little) with such an unvelievable conviction that is absolutely moving. I can tell he put his all on this recording. As a longtime fan, I was kind of disappointed that Moore didn't have more upbeat songs, but I think he really does well on the slower tunes. He has a truly ANOINTED voice. I was also surprised that he didn't depend on the MISSISSIPPI MASS CHOIR for strong background vocals. In spite of these few blemishes, this is an overall effective album! Moore has a great range; it's untouchable in my book!! His style is very traditionally-based, but I enjoy him all the same as a young person. I especially love the title track "It's Not Over" which is his personal statement indeed!!! Other goodies are "Praise Him," a song with an updated "groove" and "Wondrously Blessed" is a winner!!! So, if you love TRADITIONAL/CONTEMPORARY Gospel, then pick this one up, though I think this would add to any collection! There are songs for both the contemporary listeners and traditional ones alike. Above all, if you like artists that keep it "REAL," then this is a "gotta-have" And as my man Moore would say, Remember: "It's not over!" :o) |
