This album covers all the best Mellencamp tunes with very interesting arrangements. It is a bit bluegrass, and a lot americana. Some of these songs give me goosebumps with that great mandolin...

Mellencamp - expanded upon in a respectful way, January 20, 2007

Being a southern Indiana Hoosier that grew up within 20 miles of John's boyhood home, I feel like I know better than most what he's talking about. However, sometimes it's easy to take those classic tracks for granted. I bought this album for kicks but I find myself listening to it every once in a while so I can have a new appreciation of the strength of the originals. The new arrangements and the addition of bluegrass elements are not at all out of character with Mellencamp's latest efforts.
