5.0 out of 5 stars This is worth a listen--it is classic 4 Seasons!
This was the fourth album by the 4 Seasons in what was a magnificent year of hit songs--it was the last of their early era (VeeJay label)--after this they exploded with some of their best stuff on the Phillips label (Dawn, Rag Doll, Lets Hang On) as they were only one of two American groups who had success during the British Invasion.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Bit Lacking
I would strongly urge anyone who is considering purchasing a package with the more notable Four Seasons hits on it, to avoid this Curb material, and try to go with Rhino or WB.....the sound quality is decidely better with those packages.

This album has some of their best early R&B renditions--the harmonies are tight and Frankie Valli's interpretations ideal.

There were actually a several songs that charted from this record. "Aint that a Shame" was of course a hit, but "Candy Girl/Marlena" was a major double sided hit, New Mexican Rose was popular on the West Coast as well as in the East--and Long Lonely Nights received considerable airplay. This is a wonderful R&B, Rock and Roll album and worth a listen if you enjoy the unique sound that was and is the Four Seasons.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ain't That A Shame - 4 Seasons, April 5, 2008
This review is from: Ain't That a Shame (Audio CD)
This re-issue dates from the Group's Vee-Jay days. The sound quality is excellent and the packaging has been greatly enhanced by using the artwork from the original album. A first rate package at a bargain price.
