1.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced and Extremely Short Life!, January 20, 2009

This review is from: Aiptek Lithium Rechargeable Battery for IS DV Digital, GO-HD and A-HD camcorders (Electronics)
The batteries that came with my Aiptek HD 720p camera both died in under 11 months of light usage -- both of them. If I understand correctly, this battery is an exact replacement of what comes with the product itself.

There are plenty of less expensive "NP-60" Lithium rechargeable batteries out there. I just bought two to try them out and see if they would work with my Aiptek camera. One cost me $9.99. The other cost me $1.54! For under $2 you can get a NP-60 battery.

At that price it only has to last 1 month to be more cost effective than buying the "Aiptek" branded replacement.

The $9.99 battery:
Hi-Capacity Li-Ion Digital Camera Battery for Fuji FinePix F401 (NP-60)

The one I got for $1.54:
Eforcity Replacement Standard Battery for Kodak KLIC-5000 Kodak DX6490 DX7440 LS420 LS443 LS633 Z730..FinePix 50i F401 F401 Zoom F410 Zoom Casio QV-R3 QV-R4..HP PhotoSmart R507 R607 R607v R607xi R707 R707v R707xi R717..Olympus Camedia AZ-1 AZ-2 Zoom Fer...

I've charged and used both of them in my video camera.

3.0 out of 5 stars Aiptek battery, May 27, 2009
By
This review is from: Aiptek Lithium Rechargeable Battery for IS DV Digital, GO-HD and A-HD camcorders (Electronics)
I was somewhat disappointed in the product. The battery I received was an OEM Aiptek but was only 1000ma capacity as opposed to the 1200ma that is standard on my A-HD camcorder. The technical info did not include the capacity, which I should have recognized as a reason to check further. I got what I paid for, I just didn't get the information I should have in order to make an informed decision.

4.0 out of 5 stars You'll need it!, May 3, 2009
This review is from: Aiptek Lithium Rechargeable Battery for IS DV Digital, GO-HD and A-HD camcorders (Electronics)
If you have a compatible Aiptek then you really need at least one spare battery if you plan recording anything of any decent length. And this is a spare battery. You can get OEM ones a little cheaper but I bought with the camcorder for convenience.
