If you have been unhappy with the current crop of PC combat flight sims, this bargain priced sim is much better then games like Battlestation Midway and some other flight sims out there. Even on a mid range computer the graphics are fantastic the flight models, everything A+ you can't go wrong with this one and at $19 it is much much better then games I paid $50 for . Congrats to the makers of this sim.

Air Battles: Sky Defender- The Air Battles game just simply does not work- it locks up my computer, has poorly defined menus and although it will recognize my joystick, the game won't utilize it. Pass on this software- even at $7.95 it's just not worth the frustration. FWIW- I have a modern, up-to date computer and I'm fairly adept with it. In short- Air Battles: Sky Defender is just not a good game product.

This is probably the best world war II simulator around. Very easy to install, excellent graphics and realism. And the best part it even works just fine under windows vista platform. A must have...

i wonder why this game works for some but in most cases does not. it just freezes up after clicking on the fly icon. very disappointing

A fun game for those of us who don`t want to be dazzled
with alot of bells and whistles.

It loads perfectly, but will not open & run. I get an error message every time and it has to shut down. Zero on the 'fun scale'.

Not a bad game, but it turns out I already owned it before I bought it...pretty much. This is a repackaging of the flight Sim Battle of Britain 2, stripped down. If you a enjoy flight sims of moderate to realistic difficulty go with Battle of Britain 2 (well, actually I would say go with the IL-2 series, but you probably already know this), it gives you many more options, historical scenarios, and a campaign you can play. Sky defender just lets you fly some generic missions....but they aren't at all bad. There are several hours of fun for you here...but this game probably isn't going to stay on your hard drive long term.
As advertised it's geared for the beginner, I think this would be a nice game if you enjoy arcade style games and want to ease into flight sims. If you are a flight sim old timer and have NOT played Battle of Britain 2, this is still worth picking up for under 20 bucks. Looks reasonably good, with "realistic" settings it is goes beyond arcade game and into low-moderate difficulty (if you demand your game simulate every esoteric aspect of flight...this isn't for you), gives you several planes to fly although they are the standard Battle of Britain planes you've probably virtually flown many times before...me109 and 110, ju-87, hurricane, and spitfire.

...do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on this one, it has great grafics if all you want to do is sit and watch but if you intend to fly forget it, i still can't configure the joystick buttons to work and the flight model is way too sensitive, you'll be all over the screen trying to fly while other planes are shooting you down...the only thing that works right is the "bail-out" key.

Bought it to run on Windows XP, have more than enogh memory and such to run it, but, it ran poorly, locked up and I had to shut the computer off to get rid of the stoppage. I have deleted the game from my computer and may try again one day to see why it didn't work first time out of the box. Merry Christmas!
