I usually love Ms. Feehan's work. They are usually enjoyable and erotic. An amuse bouche if you will

This novel would be a notable exception. The body count has to be well above 100, and this is for a romance novel. The scenes involving the human trafficking would be great in a gritty, noir spy novel and would add to it. Not for a romance novel. In fact, there is very little romance and while I admire the fact that the heroine quickly learns to kill people with little to no emotional consequences, I don't feel any emotional connection between the hero and heroine. In fact, without the bond, a plot device if there ever was one, I don't really see what these two characters have in common at all. Great sex, of which there is almost none, doesn't make a relationship.

Give this one a miss and hope for the next one Ms. Feehan's editor gets her back to doing what she does best: romances.

Wanted to love it but it wasn't meant to be. I found myself skipping over page after page that was just so repetitive. Maxim's inner dialogue about how he just wasn't good enough for Airiana was killing it for me. And then begins starts the never-ending back and forth between them so Airiana can convince him on just how perfect he is...commence the skipping of more pages for me. I don't consider any of this a spoiler since this is a common theme through out Feehan's books lately. There is non-stop action like some of the other reviews pointed out, but it's so depressing that I can't say I enjoyed any if it. Another theme she seems to be hooked on. I just feel such a let down after finishing this book. I was honestly glad when I made it to the last page.

I preordered this book months ago!!! Because Christine Feehan used to be my favorite author...... BUT..... It seems to me she just don't have the skill she used to have... it hurts me to leave such a bad review. But SERIOUSLY!!! If you've read any of her previous stories. Then you don't need to bother with another.. I'm starting to really believe that she only knows a very few sentences,, and that she fills her books with page after page of repeated lines over and over and over again!!! As usual she describes the two main characters until your SICK of hearing about what they look like !!! I mean WHO CARES AFTER THE 100th time????? I WILL NOT PREORDER ANYTHING FROM HER AGAIN ! Furthermore I will not read another thing that she writes without looking at ALL THE REVIEWS!!!! And the sea haven novels are NOT Like they used to be. I'm just very upset also the sex scenes are the same EXACT SCENES FROM PREVIOUS STORIES!!! Get a new fantasy!!! Watch a x rated flick if needed. .But Pleassse. Get some new material. I skipped 14 pages of this book because of going stir crazy! It's like ground hog day!!! Sorry but I have to be honest. Maybe if more of her readers would let her know what they really think we would get the Old CHRISTINE FEEHAN BACK!!! Beth.N

This is book three in the Sisters of the Heart Series, which is a spinoff from the Drake Sisters series. While it is titled after the women, and they do all live together as "sisters of the heart", really, if you are following the series, this series is about the women who will be matched up with the six remaining Prakenskii brothers. The Prakenskii family is like the male version of the Drake family in that they have magical powers and the seventh child will have seven children to pass on the magical legacy. The first book in this spinoff featured a heroine who has autism and a hero with amnesia and I adored that book, but the second book just really fell flat for me.

Ariana grew up a child prodigy and genius. She was in a government-sponsored think tank/school when her mother was tortured and murdered which caused her to quit doing the work. The government finally released her when she was 20 at which time she met the other "sisters" in group therapy. Maxim Prakenskii who seems to be closest (if you can in any way consider the Prakenskii brothers "close") to Gavril, kidnaps Ariana as a way to protect her from other people who are trying to kidnap her to use her for her incredible mind and talents. This plan naturally backfires in a big way.

The first 50 pages or so are full of awkward info dumping about the series as it has been portrayed so far and about the main characters. Stick it out though, because from there it is pretty much a nonstop action packed ride. While this particular book did not quite reach the enjoyment level of Water Bound (for me anyway, YMMV) it is head and shoulders above Spirit Bound. I really enjoyed the chemistry between these two characters. Maxim is such an adorably befuddled alpha male. He's way more caring and intuitive than he thinks.

this novel had too much violence for my personal taste. the trafficking in children and yound females certainly needs to be addressed far more than the governments of this world have so far. I would have liked more personal time between the main characters. All in all the novel kept me interested; but I did not feel it was of the same caliber of the author's sea haven novels.

This book was well written and had a lot of action but it certainly wasn't a romance novel! There's nothing romantic about children being raped, tortured, and murdered. The level of depravity in all of Feehan's books is rising. She had a similar story line a few years ago in her Dark series. I just don't want to read my ROMANCE novels with this type of violence and oh so real occurrences in it. As far as I'm concerned, this is the last of the Feehan books I read / purchase. I don't care that I've been waiting for almost 20 years for the Dark series to reach its story conclusion either - after 20 years - I HAVE LOST ALL INTEREST!
