Product Description

Vietnam. 1965. A long-simmering conflict escalates into a full-fledged war, and you are about to become a big part of it. Jump into the cockpit of some of the finest combat aircraft as young Joe Thompson, a newly minted U.S. Air Force pilot. He is brave, talented and ready to do his duty, but his experiences during this war will change him forever. Air Conflicts: Vietnam is an arcade-styled air-combat game that immerses players in the harrowing skies over Vietnam. Take to the air in screaming fighter jets or grab the controls of devastating helicopter gunships as you shatter enemy encampments with explosive ordinance, decimate North Vietnamese ace fighter squadrons, escort bombers as they deliver their deadly payload, or rescue stranded soldiers and deliver support troops to the ever-changing front lines of the vicious battlefield.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lives up to budget ambitions December 23, 2013
It's no masterpiece, but it's really fun almost in spite of itself- that is, if you like blowing stuff up with some Vietnam War aircraft. The gameplay gets repetitive at times and so does the faux 60's rock soundtrack, and the "story", consisting of letters from family back home read aloud and some scarce narration, is really cheesy and shallow, but the game is just FUN. The combat is pretty satisfying most of the time.

*The aircraft you can fly are: the F-100 Super Sabre, F-104 Starfighter, F-4 Phantom, A-4 Skyhawk, A-7 Corsair, F-8 Crusader, F-105 Thunderchief, OH-6 Cayuse, OH-58 Kiowa, AH-1 Cobra, MiG-15 Fagot, MiG-17, MiG-19 Farmer, Mig-21 Fishbed, Mi-8 Hip, A6M Zero and F4U Corsair (WWII era , must find/salvage first), C-123 Provider, B-52 Stratofortress, UH-1 Iroquois Huey, CH-47 Chinook and the CH-53 Sea Stallion.

If you're concerned at all with trophies, this would be an easy platinum if (when?) it had an online community. The multiplayer seems like it could be really fast-paced and lively but, too, but right now, there's still virtually no one playing. Hopefully that will change.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for me January 5, 2015
By me!
I just couln't get into it. I love flight sims, and after the latest Ace Combat crashed and burned there are just too few flight sims coming out these days. The day I bought this game I tried it out for about 20 minutes on free flight mode and thought, "This is going to be fun." The next day I gave this one my full attention, but after playing the second mission, the game left me with a feeling that I am flying an RC aircraft inside a bedroom. The level's borders seemed too small and that really ruined it for me. It would seem that you would fly over and fire at your enemy, speed up to avoid incoming fire, and be at the wall before you had time to re-adjust and circle around for another pass. I just can't get into a game that has that small of levels, and to be fair, perhaps I just didn't play it long enough and things get better, but my first impression wasn't good and therefore the rest of the game will just be a crash landing. Out of the kindness found at the bottom of my heart, I could only give this game 2 stars, and that is on the high side.

first of all elevators control your elevation not your ailerons. Every aircraft was displayed on a carrier like some kind of museum. this game is pretty fun if you are drunk. other than that it's only worth $15. yeah this was a small budget game.

5.0 out of 5 stars really fun flying game January 24, 2015

really fun flying game. some of the controls are a little unrealistic but it makes it playable. if you're into helicopters (cargo, attack, or utility) or jets, i would say its a great time killer if you don't wanna spend money on a simulator

3.0 out of 5 stars Simple, got bored of it quickly November 14, 2014

Fairly simplistic game, not a lot of playing options and it becomes really monotonous. I got bored of it in less than an hour.
