This review is from: Air Force Officer's Guide, 35th Edition (Paperback)
I've been in Air Force ROTC for a little less than a year now. Before I joined I wanted to learn as much about the Air Force and life as an officer as I could, and this book was really helpful. It has a lot of great information on a variety of subjects from officer knowledge to careers. A must-read for prospective officers.

This book is of great quality. It is well written; it is not confusing and is a great gift or study guide for anyone in or considering joining the Air Force. The color photos were a nice touch and for how inexpensive the book is the information is well worth the price.

...For any civilian wishing to enter Defence, particularly the Air-Force, this is a good read. It teaches values that are very much needed to be a true asset to the organisation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding resource, April 7, 2008
This review is from: Air Force Officer's Guide, 35th Edition (Paperback)
Excellant product. I am prior military but have been out for almost 20 years and have just gone back in, this time as an Officer. I found this book very informative and helpful in preparing for Officer Training and would recommend it highly!

5.0 out of 5 stars Air Force veteran loves this book, December 13, 2011

This officers' guide is a great gift for anyone who is in the military no matter what branch. (I have one from the Army, Navy and the Coast Guard.) It is also a great for military buffs everywhere.

All things Air Force is covered in this book from wear of the uniform, rank and insignia, regulations, medals and decorations to organization and command structure.

There is also a chapter on benefits for retirees and veterans, so those who were in the service might want to take a look to see what they are eligible for.

I can spend hours browsing through this book and I have many times. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for the AF officer, December 9, 2011

I bought the Kindle version of this book, hoping to be prepared before I "enter the unknown." I am set to go to COTS next May and this has surely helped me understand the basics of the USAF, call it "USAF 101." It includes information that no website has. It has facts you need to know: insurance/medical/housing/retirement benefits for you and your family, (social and professional) life in the air force being an officer, principles and basics of war, how to advance your career/promotion, etc. I find it very easy to understand and navigate through, in spite my very limited military knowledge, coming from a civilian point of view.

I highly recommend this book especially to those like me, who have that anxiety of going into unfamiliar territory. I know I am prepared to do my COTS and conquer my fears! Good luck, officer!
