I had high expectations for this plane- its looks great and fun. But when I got it, it was horrible. It hardly ever flew, the SLIGHTEST breeze took it out, and there is NO, altitude control. The faster you go, the higher you go. No inbetween, no ability to slow down (go lower) (unless you press land, in which case the plane starts spiraling down in huge circles. Another down side it that when you do "land", the engines continue to go, wasting charge, and the plane is VERY fragile. The paint job is gone after a few "flights", and BY THE WAY, THE ENTIRE PLANE IS MADE OF STYRAFOAM. Yea, thats right... that white light weight, highly fragile stuff. It was a huge dissappointment, I don't reccomend it to anyone, I was in a very big feild the times I "flew" it, buyt it always managed to stray into the trees, or the parking lot, or some other "bad" place. Its not worth the money- Don't buy it. BELIEVE ME- and PASS this one up.

I've wanted an RC plane for years, but needed something that my primary-school age children could play with - so I bought this one. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment.

On the positive side, the thing is durable. It had several "landings" (I use the term loosely here) where I thought for sure it would be necessary to repair it. However aside from some paint missing here and there, it never broke. Varying the speed of the two engines instead of using control surfaces (flaps & rudders) to turn also makes the thing easy to handle at slow speed (top speed is around 15-18 MPH). This also adds to the durability by needing fewer moving parts.

On the negative side there is the power issue. Even the full charge (of 3 mins) left this thing seriously underpowered - which meant short flights (my longest flight was about 20 seconds of air time) and loss of control in any type of breeze. The instructions say do not fly with winds above 5 MPH; it can't handle any wind without stalling or diving to the ground. The batteries simply cannot supply enough power to the engines to compensate.

Overall I recommend that parents avoid this toy. It's a step towards making RC flight "idiotproof" but there's still a ways to go and you don't need the frustration.

i love this toy i recently bought it it is very very good no exelent it flies at 400 miles per hour to scale it it made out of strong but durable foam like all other radio controlled plane it also is very easy to control and has an emergency landing button and only needs to be charged for 3 minutes for a 5 minute fly or a 1.2 minute fly on a 30 second charge and when it goes out of range it automaticly lands and it also has an auto pilot that automaticly takes over for the first seven seconds of flight so you can get ready
i reccomend that you buy it you wont regret it

I got this plane from the Discovery store and paid too much, but that being said - I really like this toy. It flies for a couple of minutes and then it only takes a couple of minutes to recharge. I have had it for a while and crashed several times in the street, where it was damaged. I then called Air Hog and they said that they would send me a replacement plane. I thought that was great service. I also ordered another plane so that I can fly one while the other is charging. Let's face it these planes won't last forever, but with great customer service and cheap replacement planes (about $...), I will keep flying. I really like this company and feel that they care about their customers. I am now waiting for the helecopters. They also seem like great fun.

i recently bought this item its exellent it runs for three minutes on a two minute charge and it flies at 400 miles per hour.Its easy for kids to fly because it has an emergncy landing button and take off button it can also go very very high and long distances.It is made of hard but durable foam and plasic on the outside but it feels and looks like plastic.It is also very educational because it teaches them the propeties of flight and gliding.If your looking for a good present for someone between the age of 8-22 this is a great choice for them and anyone who likes planes or flight.

When we took it to the local model airplane field the "Pros" all looked at it and turned up their noses. After seeing my son fly it perfect the first time and everytime after they were in shock. I think he had his in the air more than they did (they were always tinkering with stuff while we just flew and flew). He flew it til dusk and we rarely even noticed the charging time as we were talking about the last flight and what we were going to do on the next flight and "oh looke it's ready to go again". The following day he did manage to hit a metal pole and break off half of a propeller (we were at a different smaller field and didn't see it there) - when I called spinmaster they said no problem we will ship you some for free. This is a wonderful toy and we are already looking at the next step up for him (maybe for xmas).

This plane is just fun as heck!! Admittedly the charge doesn't last super long but it flies great!!! Don't fly it in a wind of any sort and it just soars aloft. I got it up to about 100 to 120 feet yesterday! Had to bring it back down just to be safe. Once it is up to that height, you can start doing tricks!!!
Rolls and stuff. There is no up or down control so you have to make do. MAN IT IS FUN THOUGH!!!! Love 2002!! Always wanted a simple RC PLANE!!

I got this for Christmas and it's the best! The planes durable... I should know I've crashed it in to everything in site. It takes a pounding and keep's going, it's good for beginner's or small childern. One fall back about it that it's sooo lite. In windy condistion it can be hard to controll but, it adds to the fun!
It also flies in snow. I tried it up north in GOOD condistion's. (that day we got 3 cm and winds up to 25 kmp/h and I flied it during that.)

I'm 14 so you might want to read this with your parent if you're young. When I flew this plane, it was fun, like any old RC airplane. But one thing: It's not as easy as driving an RC car or boat since it has many aerodymamic physics (airplane physics). You would DEFINIATLY have to first to read the directions and watch the training video CAREFULLY. Never go fly the plane without reading the directions and wathing the video, it has important info you need to know or else something can go wrong and you wouldn't have a clue. After you watch, go to a grassy field or a place with tall dry grass to fly the plane. Be warned, THE PLANE IS MADE OUT OF STYROPHOME AND CAN BREAK EASILY IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL OR CRASH THE PLANE REAL HARD, ESPECIALLY NOSE DIVING. First you need to charge, then you can fly. The good thing is that the plane has a begginer and advance switch. Basically, Begginer:slower for more control. Advanced:faster but harder to control. To fly, throw like a paper airplane just a little harder, it has a computer for auto take off, but don't throw it outta control or you can break a wing or tail. Once it high, you're in control. When flying, when you turn, don't turn the plane all the way for a long time or it will stall and crash. There's a thrust button will get your plane in the air more, but holding for a long time can make it stall and harder to control so you can only tap. To land, you have to hold the land button, it will decrease the speed so it will land. It can also be used to lower its height. SO BASICIALLY, THIS IS A GOOD BEGGINERS RC PLANE, BUT YOU HAVE TO BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL AND NOTE IT'S NOT AS EASY AS IT WAS ON THE COMMERCIAL OR A RC CAR. IT'S A GREAT TOY FOR KIDS WHO ARE CAREFUL.
