Awesome Durable RC Jet for the Price!!,
This review is from: Air Hogs Falcon fighter RC airplane (Toy)
These are probably the most Durable and best of the Cheap Park Flying scale type Jets for what it is. Not to be compared to the AeroAce Biplane or AA-Jet ..they are a totally different experience ..the F-16 flies faster, higher and needs more room(Watch out for trees!) ..anticipate your turns ahead of time and (Important!)ALWAYS! Double Charge the NiMh batteries regardless of what the directions say(unplug and replug charger) and you'll have a fast, powerful, cheap yet durable Park Jet!! The Real Thing!,

I've been in love with the idea of flying model planes as long as I can remember. But nothing that I could afford workd well. This air-hog is the real thing. For only [...] this airplane flys high, far, long, and with great control. Now it's more than just an idea, I fly it all the time. It is GREAT!

Not great so far.,

The main issue is the controls. We are having a hard time getting this thing to fly well and the idea of pulling down to go down is weird to us pilot types. It tends to just nose dive regardless. We will give it another go at the park tomorrow but so far all it does is crash. That it's still in one piece is amazing.

Overly fragile, difficult to control, under-powered,

Overview:
If you want a toy airplane and not a model airplane, go for it. If you want a model airplane, or you're learning to fly model aircraft, this is not a good place to start. Hits: * Price - no big deal to toss in the trash when (not if) it breaks. * User can charge aircraft from remote. Misses: * Unable to invert controls to "normal" * No way to reverse controls for when aircraft is heading toward user. * Requires hand launch / no wheels. * Nose cone becomes misaligned far too easily. * Very under-powered for users in most of Colorado. I haven't tried it at below 5,000' MSL Details: The way this aircraft is controlled by varying the thrust on each of the two electric motors. The motors on each side run at one of three speeds: low, medium, and high. Climbs are done by running both motors at high, descents at medium or low. Turns are done by running one motor at a setting higher than the other, creating differential thrust. The controller has one joystick. Pushing the stick away from you sets the motors to high, toward you low and in the middle - medium. Right stick yields more thrust on the left side making the aircraft turn right, and left yields more thrust on the right side making the aircraft turn left. For anyone who wants to transition to or from more typical controls or to real aircraft, the push away pull forward will be backwards and take some getting used to. Charging this aircraft is done by plugging it into the remote which requires eight batteries. My main problem with this aircraft was that it was simply too difficult to control for beginners and too fragile if you got it flying on it's back. I had the misfortune of crash landing mine upside down - an event that sheared the vertical stabilizer off at the root. There is no fix for that. This really is a toy. If you plan to learn how to fly model airplanes, I wouldn't recommend starting here. Check with a local hobby shop on good starter methods such as flight simulation software and basic trainers (i.e. the Piper Cub). I own a FlyZone Cub and while it's a lot more expensive, I can connect my controller to an instructor's controller so he/she can fix my flying mistakes before they become disaster (and a busted up aircraft).

Not for the kids. This durable airplane is super fun, but the control is minimal and kids under 16 or so will do nothing but crash. Charge it twice, give it a hard throw in a park with at least 2 football fields of room and try to do some turnin and burnin.

We could not get this thing to fly more than 15 feet, were not able to get it to turn before it crashed and nose-dived. It eventually crashed and the nose snapped.

The only way I could see getting a long flight as advertised is to throw the thing off a cliff. We bought this for my 9 yr old son and I took it to a baseball field to try out. I have over 20 years of R/C plane flying experience so I lofted the plane as instructed only to watch it nose dive in about 25 feet. The longest flight we were able to get was about 30 seconds in a large left hand turn the whole time. The controls are terrible, you basically have full power and no power for glide/landing. Turning is accomplished by one of the twin motors powering down slightly which just barely works and causes the plane to dive due to the power loss. Overall a very disappointing experience and I would highly recommend a "REAL" r/c plane if you want the kids to have any fun at all. His total time he got to hold the controls and fly it before it nose dived was probably 25 seconds - not worth the money at that rate in my opinion!
