It's very important to understand that airplanes are very strong in the air, but very fragile on the ground. Air Hogs has gone to great trouble to make impact resistant airframes, but weight is the great enemy of flying characteristics. It always comes down to compromise. And this and most other Air Hogs products are nearly perfect compromises. Be prepared to learn to fly in larger areas that are free of obstructions, then move into the smaller spaces. Oh, and don't try to fly in moving air! Turn the A/C off, turn the fans off, etc. The fun part for me is after I'm through with the original toy, you can remove and reuse the equipment. Try making replacements from balsa for a real fun experience! (or foam, you can get it at the local hardware store) Either way, buy a good scale and watch the weight and balance.
These toys are for the parent who wants to help educate and intrigue their children. Not for handing them and walking away. Ok, they are for the bigger kids, too. (like anybody with patience and a willingness to learn what makes airplanes fly)

The best Air Hog for learning and teaching is the Aero Ace Biplane, which can be difficult to obtain.

Granted, it's only 4 weeks after Christmas, but for $30, this seems worth the money. My husband has taken my son out several times to the park to fly this and it can actually fly amazingly high. Probably if my son hadn't insisted on also flying it in the yard and thus crashing it into trees, it would now be a little less banged up. We will gladly go out and spend another $30 to get another one if this gets too messed up.

my son loves this..he can handle it very well and he is 5 yrs old...i do not recommend it for indoor use unless you have high ceilings, otherwise a perfect plane for starters and a great toy for the intermediate to advance flyer
