I got two of these for my nephew for his 10th birthday. Like other air hog vehicles they are very light weight, but this is why they work so well. If you have small children that will step on them or a kid that will just junk them in a toy box then I would not get these. They are not made to withstand much. However...They race very well and even the adults were intriqued. Who doesn't like a hovecraft? My sister has a stained concrete entry, kitchen and hall so they ran very well on that surface. I would not use these outside unless you had a very smooth and clean of debris garage floor or drive way. They would work great on hard wood or tile. The boy's raced these for hours. They charge pretty fast and fit nicely on the charge like a little dock. Any boy over 9 would love to have these and the price was really great.

Works only on hardwood floor and certain tiles. Fun at first, but gets old and boring. The foam steering rudders break easily, but still work broken. At top speed, it just spins in circles, no matter what you do.

I bought this for our 10 year old grandson for his birthday. He has been having fun with it. It does take time to recharge.

This item was a disappointment on arrival--it was a lot smaller than expected. But the real disappointment came on Christmas morning when the long-awaited Hovercraft that my grandson had eagerly placed on his Santa list did not work. Two engineers in the family tried and tried to get it to work, but it didn't. From now on, I will check reviews, product dimensions, and any other resources available before buying anything intended as a child's gift. I felt terrible that Hovercraft was such a dud. Of course, amazon.com is great about returns and exchanges, and I appreciate it--but tell that to a sad six-year-old on Christmas morning.

I got this for Christmas. It's a blast to play with, but had some trouble charging it at first. Once it was fully charged, it worked great! The package came opened and crushed, the seller had packed it in an old box instead of using a new one, so it was already weak. Since the actual hovercraft and controller weren't damaged and I wanted this to use and not as a collectible, it ended up okay.
