It is a really neat toy and even the adults were having fun with it.

It stays stuck on the ceiling and that is it and when you try to get it down you have to be careful so you don't get your fingers caught in the spinning blades.
Beach bum 444
If you dropped the Vectron from the air it would stay about 7cm off the ground and would not go any higher.

I was puzzled initially when I saw so many reviews for Air Hogs products saying that the battery life was very short. We never had this problem. Then I finally realized what the difference is (or at least what I think it is). DO NOT use regular AA or AAA batteries with these toys. Those batteries do not have adequate juice for these toys and will, as posted by other reviewers, last only a couple of minutes. The solution? BUY RECHARGEABLE AA batteries! We use the Sanyo Eneloop ones. The rechargeable batteries pack so much more punch, you will get a significantly longer play time with these toys.
As for a review of this product - we happened to come across it at Toys R Us. Picked it up and it is truly a great toy. Very unique concept, another innovative product from Air Hogs. It lasts at least a good 15 minutes or so before requiring a recharge (charged with the Eneloop batteries). The only concern I have with this toy is that as the battery becomes weak, the fan keeps rotating at full speed, but the toy does not fly higher if you put your hand under it. I am concerned that it might cut our son's finger - hasn't happened so far. I am guessing it has some sort of trigger which stops the fan if it comes across resistance, it does stop if I put my hand in there, but I'm not sure if a 3-year old's hands can provide adequate resistance for the fan to stop. And I don;t even want to try, so we just be careful when the battery is becoming weak and put it to recharge.

I have wasted tons of money on Air hogs toys including Switch Blade, and Helicopters etc., Vectron wave actually works like it says with out knowledge of "trim" and maintenance/repairs before first flight.
So what if it just goes up and down, all the other toys I got did the same, except they were supposed to fly! This one is actually fun!
I Hate Air Hogs, but I love Vectron Wave...and more importantly, my son loves it!
Only down side is if it does actually crash and flip over, use cation & watch your fingers!as the blade hurts! lol

My son wanted the Aig Hog Vectron Wave after seeing it advertised on TV. We purchased it from Amazon and saved over $14 in total for the item and shipping. The item really works as advertised and it's really cool.

My husband and 6 year old son are really into their R/C micro helicopters, and love flying them together. Until now, my 4 year old has only been able to watch, as flying the helicopters requires more fine-motor coordination than he has at this point. When it came around to Christmas, he told Santa he wanted nothing more than an R/C helicopter to fly with dad.

After doing a ton of research, we settled on the Air Hog Vectron. It flies just like dad's helicopter, but is very simple to control. My son is thrilled with it, and plays with it daily. He has a bit of trouble figuring out how to charge it himself - the switches are very, very small and you need to switch both the remote and the saucer to 'charge'. But he is able to turn the saucer on, control it with his hand, and use the 'kill' switch when needed all by himself.

For someone ready to fly an R/C helicopter or plane, this toy is probably not going to cut it. You are only able to control its up and down movement - if it moves horizontally, that is just by chance. However, for a preschooler or young elementary school student who isn't quite ready to manage the controls of an R/C helicopter, this is a great alternative.

Flew once, mostly on the ceiling - Second time it didn't get off the ground after charging for an hour. Now it won't even take a charge. The biggest waste of money for many an Xmas, it's cheap and nasty, doesn't work more than five minutes and a major disappointment. Save your money and don't buy this product.

I bought this for my 8 year old nephew. It was fun to play with but the material was very cheap and not durable at all. For the price I paid, they should have some spare parts or add a few more saucers.

My son bought this toy and it does work although a charge only lasts a few minutes. More importantly it came down on someone's head and the spinning blade wrapped up their hair. After much hysteria it was ripped out of the hair and the foam ring broke. More concerning to me, Mom, is the amount of hair that was pulled out. Sounds like a stupid mistake but when it is flying around high above it is hard to control where it lands. Beware! Or stay out of the room if you value your hair!
