Book Description

When the dead rise in Houston, Dave and Chris Thompson find themselves stranded on the top floor of the Liberty Medical Center, with nowhere to run and no help in sight. With Dave's broken leg making movement impossible and the disintegration of civilization accelerating around them, they have to act fast, or be consumed by the seething horde below.

Note: This story is about 10,000 words, or 36 pages long in paperback. If you don't like short stories, I'd suggest checking out the Elements of the Undead Omnibus, which combines Fire, Air, and Earth into one 397 page book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrilled to pieces October 26, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this Zombie short. I was lucky enough to score a free copy while the price was reduced and will not hesitate to purchase Book One in the Elements of the Undead series that this story is related to. The writing was superb, excellent, and I can't wait to read more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Zombie fun October 23, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This short is a great zombie fast read. It reads like the opening to a longer novel: fast paced and makes you hungry for more, in an un-dead sort of way. Highly recommended!

It was a good short read. I don't want to spoil it, so I won't. Read it for yourself, then get the next book Earth.

5.0 out of 5 stars nice! June 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This story is short but decent. Covers just enough back story and character detail to keep you involved, and makes you like the main character for the length of the story. Left me wanting to know what happens next, which should be the mark of every good story

1.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointed August 25, 2012

I got the first book and it was pretty good. It was free which made it even better. I bought the second one even though it was rather short. It has absolutely nothing to do with the first one. This book should not be part two. It may come into play in the third one, I will never know. After paying .99 for this "part two", I am opting not to bother with the "3rd". It wasnt worth the money, its not a part two.

5.0 out of 5 stars A short Zombie novel of the highest quality. November 1, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
"Air" is short sci-fi work by author William Esmont. This is a Kindle e-book that is a 117 Kb download and was free from Amazon.com at the time of writing this review.

SPOILERS throughout

For reasons that no one is completely sure, a few people have been turning into zombies. Initially confined to a small areas, the continual bites and wounds by these undead, turn into a problem of pandemic implications.

This particular story follows Chris and his brother Dave, who has been taken to the local hospital after a motorcycle accident. When Chris, who is unaware at this point of the impending danger, arrives to see his brother, the OPD is in chaos...but not for the usual reasons.

This tale is one of escape and survival from the hospital. It reminds me so much of the excellent TV series 'The Walking Dead' on the AMC channel.

Author Esmont has written this tale with skill...walking that fine line of a providing the reader with a scary atmosphere filled with terror and a sense of foreboding. You just never know what awaits our protagonist when they are about to round the next corner.

Conclusion:
Tense, scary and all with a superb sense of timing and pace.
I loved every word of this Zombie novel. I will actively seek out more of this author's work.

As it is...5 Stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars short but unnerving November 18, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
A very fast read and fast paced zombie novelette (very very short). The fact that it wasn't long did not take away from having a good plot and decent character development. I loved the first person point of view. This was a great introduction to the author (I will be looking for his other novel).

If you have a half hour and enjoy zombie fiction then its worth the read.

Book 2 is short but it is good. Could be a little longer for the reader to really enjoy. Thanks

4.0 out of 5 stars Well written
Nice tight tale. Do not think you can predict the ending, not with a William Esmont tale. As always his characters shine and make you wish for more.

4.0 out of 5 stars very well written
It was well written but very short. Would not pay more than a dollar for it considering it was only about 30 to 40 minutes of reading. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Way to short.
Always good descriptive writing. The quick buck, has sent me on to other authors. Not cool. I paid enough for a book not a short short story.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could have been much better.
More of a sampler than a book. Not enough there to give a rating, but since this is a review 2 stars is appropriate.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed.
I read the first book in this series which is why I bought the second one. It's not a continuation of the first but a short story about a completely different character. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read
I wish it was longer but for a short story it was well written.. It kept you reading and in suspense for the entire 30 minutes the story lasted.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but too short for the money.
With the first book being good, and it being hard to find a good zombie book out there, I thought it was a no brainer to buy the second in the series. Read more
