Purchased the set of two, one clownfish and one shark, as fluffer for my girlfriends birthday. These turned out to be a big hit. Everyone loved watching these float around, and more fun to control them with the remote. You really need to be mechanically inclined to assemble these though. Found out that you also need to add extra tape to hold down all of the mounts. Be patient, take your time, assemble them correctly, and you will have a blast like we did. I carefully deflated them and put them away in a good box. I am planning on setting them back up next year for the 4th of July.

Chinatown has fake Kate Spades and Amazon has fake Air Swimmers. I purchased a genuine Air Swimmer Shark two years ago and on accident-- a fake "air swimming fish" this year. It is downright creepy how detailed the fakes try and replicate the box of the reals. (like those phishing scams on the internet with fraudulent ebay links or Wells Fargo sites) PLEASE just go back and search for the real Air Swimmers by William Mark. Our fake doesn't even fly. It just sinks.

Let me list the way the way the fakes are cheap.
1) wrong fish came in the box
2) instructions are filled with typos and don't match the contents. They are just a copy of the reals- but the fakes don't have the same items. Extremely hard to follow.
3) adhesive squares are barely pre-cut and come off the backing only after peeling off with your fingernails. And they barely stick!!!
4) the tracking gizmo is curved (you want straight)
5) the plastic is so lightweight and thin.
6) pocket closure for putty was broken
7) seam was crooked and doesn't lay flat (real one did lay flat)
8) tape doesn't hold
9) our fish sinks and doesn't fly.
10) I can go on, but I've wasted enough time already on this. We LOVED LOVED LOVED our Air Swimmers tm by William Mark shark!! This fake "air swimming fish" is a complete disaster.

I got these as Christmas gifts for my nieces and nephews and they LOVED LOVED LOVED it, once we all put our heads together to figure out how to put the fins on. The numbers and letters on the instructions were different from the numbers and letters for the actual parts.

You also have to be careful putting these together since the pieces are made of lightweight materials in order for the fish to be able to float. I do not think they are cheaply made at all, but they are lightweight and require some care when handling.

The remotes worked perfectly and there were sharks and clownfish swimming all over the house! The kids loved it.

this was a chore to set up but really awesome for about 2 days but worth it :) The dogs loved it and my parents and elderly guests were amazed.

I would suggest taking this to a party store to fill since the little tanks you can purchase seemed less effective. If you are getting this as a gift if possible assemble it already because the set up took so long and we made some mistakes since we were excited to get to it.

On the outside of the boxes it looks like you received two fish. You need to open the boxes to see you did get one fish and one shark. This would be ok but I bought these for a gift so I did not want to open the box but had to to see if I did indeed receive a fish and shark. Just some confusion. It seems the outside of the box should say what is on the inside.

The instructions are a little ambiguous, but it's pretty easy to assemble and fill these up. The adhesive used for holding the fins and counterbalance to the main body seem sticky enough, but keep falling off after a few hours. I used a helium tank purchased at my local Wally World which worked great for filling one balloon and topping it off for a month. Not sure how much helium is left in the tank after that.

These were crazy cool! They really looked like they were swimming! They kids loved them but, forget the kids....me and my husband had a blast playing with these thing! The only issue was when we had 2 going at one time, one remote control signal took over the other and controlled both fish. Other than that..... They were a blast!

My 6 year old Grandson was just thrilled when he opened this for Christmas. He is still very excited to play with it.

The directions are confusing and almost not worth following. You're better off using Scotch tape than using the tape they provide with the kit. Either way, this is cheap entertainment. Of course the parents will have more fun with it than the kids, since kids no longer play with tangible toys.

Let's talk a little bit about HELIUM...the element that plays THE major role in this inflatable toy!:

There's no helium being made....on this planet. The sun is this solar system source of helium, which is the fusion of two hydrogrn atoms. When fusion becomes a reality, then the cost of helium will be cheap. But fusion(not fission) has been an energy dream for decades.

Helium is used a super coolant and to reduce friction in high energy physics. It is also chemically inert-unlike hydrogen that made the Hindenberg explode(see the cover of Led Zeppelin 1 for that scenario).

Given that helium is incredibly rare AND has incredible demand as the only molecule capable of performing in high end physics, it is EXPENSIVE.

I've read many times about people complaining how expensive helium is AND how much iy takes to keep the toy floating.

Helium is a SUPER small element. It will seep through these cheap toy surfaces VERY quickly and there is nothing that can be done to prevent it

So, look at this childrens toy in two ways:
1. It's FUN!. Damn it's a great white shark!!
2. As the helium runs out teach your children the uniqness and properties of this element. Play time can be learning yime and vice versa. And the U.S. needs more citizens with basic science knowledge...we already have too many GOPers.
