If you have bamboo floors I highly recommend this stuff. It will erase all of the tiny scratches that seem to accumulate so easily on these floors.

It works pretty well at masking deeper gouges, but it isn't perfect. Someone looking will still be able to spot the gouge, but it's usually good enough to get your security deposit back.

And yes, the price of shipping is more than the price of the product, but it's not like every hardware store carries this stuff. I checked my area, and no one carried it, so I ordered it online. Even with the shipping costs, it was still worth it.

deep gouges caused by feet of sofa where all finish was off in 2 6"x9" areas were discovered during move-out; this product saved us from complete refinishing of otherwise gorgeous oak floors.
simply rubbed the felt-like stick over the area, and the gouges seemed to "fill in"!
applied 2 more layers, and were amazed! couldn't tell where they were.

I bought this product to hide a few scratches on my fireplace and saw little to no improvement. Maybe it helps certain types of scratches but I had no luck with what I purchased it for.

I was given one of these almond sticks as a wedding gift. When my daughter in-law showed me some scratches the cat made on her new furniture, I told her I knew just the product she needed. Finding the product offered on Amazon, I ordered a stick and sent it to her.She called me right after it arrived telling me that it was just fantastic and truly covered most of the scratches and hid the deep scratches very well. It is an excellent item to have on hand at all times. Fantastic gift!

BOught this after some brief research on how to cover up about an inch scratch in the engineered floor in the rental unit I was vacating.

To give some color, this was a darker cherry colored floor scrached by dragging a dresser. Applying the product to the scratch left a conspicuously shiny area, while also marginally covering the scratch. You'd have to be seriously myopic to NOT see the scratch still.

Other reviewers note success on furniture scrached by pets. I believe this product would be far more successful on multiple, less deep scratches left from claws on a housecat. It even notes on the side of the container that the product should not be used on deep scratches, but I would not have characterized my scratch as deep at all.

All in all, not worth the $9 I spent on it (although my landlord accepted the attempt at repair). Shipping also took forever from Pyramyd Air.

I have been using this product for years. It really works. I just used it on a wooden counter in my kitchen where there was a large white stain, (not new) and it worked beautifully.

This product has been around for a long, long time, at least 60 years. Growing up in a very active family of five kids who did alot of roughhousing, the furniture took a beating. Once of my oldest repeated memories is my dad sighing and saying "Go get the almond stick." after one of our wrestling sessions. That is until we got old enough to figure out that if we got and used the stick first he might not see what we had done!

This tiny item ships for $2 more than it costs. I'll purchase it elsewhere.
