Wearever packs these 'nesting'. There is a small, flimsy piece of foam wrap between each. The overlap of the bottom insulating layer was in direct contact with the top layer of metal on the larger sheet below it. As a result, there were gouges in the larger sheets. This was not Amazon's fault and I have tried to bring it to the attention of Wearever. Whether Wearever responds is anyone's guess. I doubt that this will impact the usability of the sheets, but I have rated this item 3 stars because Wearever should have known better and taken more care in packaging its product. The reader should keep in mind that these are about the only (non) non-stick cookie sheets on the Amazon site so you really have little choice but to hope that Wearever improves.

(Update): Amazon also carries the Chicago Metallic 'Natural' (meaning not non-stick). This one got the second highest marks in the Cook's Illustrated test. I would go with this one (especially since Wearever, despite its claims of good customer service, never responded to my complaint).

I had seen reviews where the sheets came scratched, mine were not. They are wonderful to bake with. The only problem I had was that I paid $25 for them and there was a sticker on them that said only $19.99, they could have either removed the sticker or charged me the cheaper price.

In spite of the other review saying that the sheets arrived badly scratched, I thought I would try give them a try because they are so inexpensive. Bad idea. They are scratched so badly they are basically unusable. If you are in the market for cookie sheets, do yourself a favor and spend the extra $5 for ones that you will be able to bake with!

Cookies I baked a few times came out very nice! They seem to bake very well. My brother came to visit from Japan and I was telling him about my new cookie/baking sheets & he jumped in & said he heard insulated or airbake were the best & I told him that they do bake well, but I was too embarrassed to show them to him so I quickly changed the subject. I do like the sizes. I hope they don't cause any problems with the outcome of future recipes as I have only used them for a few batches of cookies and so far, so good. I used the largest sheet which has the most scratches & dents and all went well, so my guess is, performance is not a problem with these ugly gashes. It really ticks me off as I go out of my way to keep things nice & new like & these came to me so scratched & abused it is just so frustrating! I feel like a fool to recommend these garage sale quality sheets to anyone, but if you do, try & find non-thrashed ones or another brand. I give them 3 stars for the embarrassment & ugliness of which could have easily been prevented. So, I bake excellent cookies, but keep these baking sheets well hidden! Oh, and they do clean up well I must add.

Just received these, and just want to say that mine are not scratched. I haven't used them yet, so I can't fairly give them five stars, but am assuming they will work as well as any cookie sheet. Certainly for value they deserve five stars. I'm sure I'll be putting more than a few scratches in them myself over the years - which I doubt will affect their performance very much.
